Does anybody regularly like to do shuffle races? I look for them online, but don't seem to find much. But I enjoy them, and like the challenge of getting used to something unfamiliar quick. Feel free to add me if anybody else is up to it! I don't know how often I will be on to do them myself, but I'll definatly be up for it if anybody else already has one going when I sign on!

Can you explain 'shuffle racing' to me. I've not tried it. So sell it to me please.

well, I've only got an idea because ive only done it twice since i started playing online, but both times somebody else set up the room... but both times, everybody in the room got a random car, that was pretty equal to one anothers in performance aspects. it made the racing interesting, because you had to learn the car quick. I just like the competitiveness of it. but I never see any rooms that say "shuffle" anymore.

Tried to shuffle race at your suggestion, worked really well. Noone trying to drive an X1 against a Mazda Miata. Just relaxing racing in realistic cars.

Got to drive a few I didn't own.

and thats exactly why i like shuffles! keeps it a level event, and interesting.

Shuffle racing is really great fun :) I do think there is to few cars in shuffle though, I almost always get a FF car and there should have bin more classes like 100hp-150hp/150hp-200hp...etc..

If anyone play shuffle on private lobbies then please add me, getting really sick of all the dirty drivers in public lobbies.

I remember we had to put up with a few idiots last time...

I just was a minute ago. Started at the back of a 15 car group, and made it up to 6th and got cliped passing a guy, that didn't seem to be an accedent. Didn't matter though, had to quit anyway, timer was buzzing for my pizza! lol

I've been having lots of fun with these races.

There's actually a group of shuffleheads growing day by day, who enjoy these races in a clean way.

We join each others room whenever one is up, settings may differ by host.
My room always has no assists, light damage, high or low penalty, shuffle ratio=0, no boost, headset off.
after every race there's a vote for the next track.

Shuffle mode does needs some PD love.

hosting is lots of work if you want a full room, because everyone in the lobby during a race gets kicked as soon as the race is over. The only way to join a Shuffle race is by entering in free run before the race starts.

So you have to make sure everyone is in a car, and if u see people joining during the race then leaving and joining again, they are probably trying to get in at the right time, so it's a good idea to wait for them before starting the next race.

If you join a shuffle race that is going on, it's a good idea to leave a small text message like 'rejoining' or something, normally the host will then wait for you during freerun.

Add me if you like to try a go at fairplay shuffling, you don't have to be good, just drive clean, I can only win in the rain, but coming first isn' t my goal, I'm trying to improve my drving while having some fun.

Hi Sven, always a pleasure to find your room open when I've had a hard day and don't fancy hosting.
It is, as you say, hard work keeping the room flowing and everyone happy but you do a excellent job, so thanks.👍
P.S Feel free to download my Eifel track from my profile. Its a great track to pull up for some light relief after pounding round the Nurburgring

Shuffled again last night. Room varied from 2 to 12 racers. Good clean fun. Hard to race fair but all things considered, went well. Tyre option makes grip low. FF and 4WD are advantaged but is fun in any car.

Hey, I have joined some shuffle lobbies last week hosted by you guys and is have bin quite mixed experience.
There always seems to be 1-2 people who drive like a :cencored: but they dont get kicked because it was not intentionally or its a friend of one of the racers. The driving experience with normal cars on comforts is epic though :D

But if you are a decent number of racers then why not race private?

EDIT, Milldrum; 4WD and FWD is not a advantage IMO, maybe on a few tracks or if you have trouble being consistent with RWD, but I actually think RWD is a advantage if you can handle it.. to bad I get FWD in 90% of my races:(

Hi ADEuk, downloaded the track, thats just funny.
Mr_Volcano, you are very right that there always seem to be 1 or more people joining with their only intention being spoiling it for everyone.

It's a bit too soon for private lobbies i think, most friends in a lobby at one time was 6, but I'm pretty sure that in a month or so, the room will be almost full with only serious players.

I have a very strict kicking policy, friendslist or not. Not braking for corners, ramming, pushing off track in corners and just being an idiot makes it your last race.

I can't be hypocritic and kick everyone who sometimes loses control or goes off, then I wouldn't be playing either.

I'm also still looking to improve the experience for everyone, I've now begun to not accept new players when it's been a good race, and the next track is narrow or rainy.

I do like to give everyone a chance, I remeber my interest in clean racing began when I stumbled upon a room filled with GTP members in GT5P.

The room will be up later today, hope to meet some new serious drivers to have some fun.

I would love to get in on this tonight, if anyone would care to point me towards a room.

Raced on ADEuk's hosting this afternoon and had tons of fun, shuffle racing is probably the best available on GT5 at the moment, it's a shame that PD don't expand it (and fix the associated bugs!)

Had a great day shufflin'

Here are some know bugs regarding shuffle racing:

- everyone in lobby during race gets kicked when race is fiinished (solution: rejoin during freerun after a race)

- sometimes players dont see all the cars that are on track, seems to be a network problem

- sometimes the jingle that sounds 15 seconds before start keeps repeating during the entire race (I've only had it happen while hosting, i have no music on while racing)

- if the track gets changed after you have gotten a car, you keep this car and the tyres it's on

-being the host it is possible that after the race you dont get send back to the lobby, I know how to replicate this bug but dont want to give anyone ideas.

All I do online is "shuffle" races and whenever I'm unable to find a shuffle server in the lobbies, I just create my own. Its always called "clean & competitive" and I usually get repeating customers. Everybody is more than welcome to check it out.

*Event settings
-Fixed server: No
-Mics: off (dramatically improves racing quality).
-Max Players allowed: 12
-Free run/join in time: 2-3 min.
-Avg time of completion of course: 8-10 mins. (track pending)
-Laps: 4/6 (track pending).
-Boost: Strong (everybody has a fair chance to compete for 1st place).
-Penalties: Light/Heavy (track pending).
-Damage: Light
-Shuffle ratio: 3
-Course settings: Host picks

*Driving aids
-Driving line: Off (finding your own optimal driving line is part of racing).
-Everything else can be utilized at the discretion of the driver(s).

*Ways to get booted from server
-Causing "player grievances" by purposely driving improperly and not abiding to the "common courtesies of racing" also known as "Race Etiquette". (Which can be viewed from this previous thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=162074

Sven1972Be, ADEuk, I joined your rooms a couple of times on weekends, became a big fan of shuffle. Now play shuffle only and always look for your rooms. Create my own if you are offline. Thanks for racing! Close and clean racing on comfort tires is awesome :)

Really good racing yesterday in your lobby sven :) And you was very fast to kick out the rammers 👍 Will join tonight to if your on!

With full grid yesterday it was very hard to race tight tracks like toscana..people was overtaking with 4 wheels of the track and had no patience.. Thats why I hate to race tracks like london and toscana on public lobbyies...lol.

Keep up the good work sven! 👍

It was a good night yesterday indeed, thanks for staying so long. You are way faster than me but we had a few good fights too. (when you got the clio and I got the RSX)

As you know, I totally agree with you about the small narrow tracks, impossible to race on with strangers. TGTT has been banned, it just confuses people into thinking it s a ramming lobby.

At one time I got frustrated when I got a penalty 2 laps in a row for taking the chicane at Cote Azur without shortcutting, and the guy behind me flying over the curbs and ramming me and getting away with it.
I was also pretty mad when a guy turned my car around on the first fast section of the Nürb, but his explanation made perfect sense, no use in kicking for that, he was good fun.

Another good story, the guy who went off every corner, blamed his car and other drivers had first pm'd me that he would race clean, I must have kicked him before, and he tought I wasn't letting him in. Last thing he wrote was 'mmm revenge !' so I kicked him, and then he pm's me asking why... ??? He's now on my blocked list, I wonder if they can join my lobby again then.

Toscana I really like though, if Stav gets a weak car we have tons of fun. And I must admit I make use of the whole width between invisible walls when overtaking too, just to avoid collisions, not to shortcut.

I'm pretty sure I'll be shuffling tonight, maybe I'll see you and the other shuffleheads then. All clean drivers welcome.

Yeah we had some good side by side battles:) Thats what its all about 👍

I use full width on toscana too, but that only because I would be rammed if i was not. I like toscana more for hotlapping, then I have more realistic driving line. Why the off track physics is so bad Is strange, its almost no difference in on track and off track. What GT need is ditches, stones and trees by the road, not a perfectly flat ground with invisable barriers

Sven, raced yesterday in your lobby and got a lot of fun as always. But I've got sudden disconnect during night nurb and went to sleep because I was tired and began to make many stupid mistakes.
Volcano, we had a couple of good battles, it was really exciting, expecially on Deep Forest last section.

Disconnects happen a lot unfortunatly, I had one in Ade's room yesterday too. Good fun again though.
