Sven, raced yesterday in your lobby and got a lot of fun as always. But I've got sudden disconnect during night nurb and went to sleep because I was tired and began to make many stupid mistakes.
Volcano, we had a couple of good battles, it was really exciting, expecially on Deep Forest last section.

Hey ninja :) Yeah i remember the battle we had on deep forest, really good fun 👍 And IMO deep forest is one of the best original tracks in gt.

Sven whats the rules about turn 3 on deep forrest. If you go wide there you can go much faster. I feel a little bit like cheating when i go wide there, but I have heard good and clean drivers say its ok..

Was shuffle racing today, the car's were not evenly matched. The mitsubishi GTO trounced everything else and the mini was much slower on straights than others, the clio's even despite the fact I exited corners faster. Can you choose the shuffle car's or is it random?

The host can set shuffle ratio on, this is a handicap wich gives winner a worse car next round.

LOL, a lot of familiar shufflehead-names in this thread :) I'm hoping to hook up with Sven or Adrian sometime tomorrow- and thursdayevening. It's been a few days since I joined the fun. Starting to miss it :p

That's for everyone to decide for themselves. If you are talking about the concrete patch, I avoid it and follow the track as designed.

If someone shortcuts there, and causes mayhem with drivers who do follow the track he's out. Same for monaco, I dont understand why people insist on flying over the curbs at the chicane, really annoying for drivers who follow the track, I 'm really hoping for better and harder shortcut penalties (30secs+).

Hey OnlyMe, always fun to race you!

I always try to have atleast 2 wheels on the track including chicane on monaco, but if i see the driver ahead of me is going outside the curbs on t3 in deep forrest then i will follow him.. See you later tonight if you are on 👍

I don't mind people taking the concrete in Deep Forest, or the chicane in Monaco. It's the big blatant ones like at Le Sarthe, Monza, Nurburgring and the TGTT :yuck: etc that wil get you ejected from my room..

After watching Top Gear on TV I was looking forward to that track! I cant tell how dissapointed I was of that track without breaking the AUP several times

I really like the challenge of starting behind in shuffle racing, If you just have some patience (and the drivers are clean) then one by one will fall off :sly: :p

See you later shuffleheads!

It's pretty annoying to brake before Monza chicane on the first lap and get a huge ram from behind from people who have bad habit to cut it. And then they start to blame you, because they think you brake too early. This is stupid!
I'm not an angel, I cut this chicane too to avoid collision or if I see car before me cuts it. But this is really PD mistake to allow such bad moves without penalty.
Driving over curbs at Monaco chicane does not give much advantage IMO, if you brake earlier to drive through it properly, you can start acceleration earlier.

I did shuffle racing for the first time tonight. It was fun, but it was so weird.

First, it is an open lobby, so there are a fair number of people bowling through corners, throwing hockey checks, or simply bumping around. There was also a sailor who only spoke in blue. He was the only other guy with a mic, so that was kind of miserable.

But the rest of the guys were fun, and they did try to do a good job of staying clean. What was weird to me were the cars. I go for a few races with random little FFs on Comfort Soft tires. Horrible understeer and crazy long braking. I do slip into the middle of the pack on a few races, but tend to finish at the bottom.

One race, I get a Neon. I don't expect much from it, but it was the fastest car in the field. Everyone would crowd around me in the corners, but as soon as we got into a straight, I'd pull away and leave them all behind. I win the race. Well, the car won the race. I just avoided crashing into the wall and losing the race.

As a reward for winning, I get an 1973 Alpine. Off the line, everyone pulls away. I get close as they leave the first corner, but on the straight, the pull away. Each corner, they are further and further away. I have the slowest car in the field. I probably have the slowest car in the shuffle car park.

And that is what is so weird to me. It wasn't, "Let's bump you down a bit." It was, "Whoa, you go to the back of the line."

Sorry to double post, but...

Tonight, the room I was in had penalties on. Low, but on. The penalties were so weak, that the drivers could cut the esses on de Sarthe (we ran the track without the chicanes) and not lose position. They would turn translucent, but still be infront of me.

On the Top Gear track, I went wide in the Hammerhead to avoid a collision, and got a short cut penalty. I didn't short-cut, I went wide. I can understand the the Top Gear track needs penalties, but it is the worse place for them. I hate racing there. I love the track, I think it is great for testing out cars, but crappy for racing.

Not to mention, it crosses itself. Twice.

I like to keep penalties high, it's true you will get a penalty every now and then you don't deserve, but leaving them off or low just encourages shortcutting.

The cars is a bit of a weird situation, I like that the are more different cars on the higher setting, but this gives totally uncompetative cars sometimes. I'm thinking of doing ratio=0 one day and maybe 2 or 3 the other day. Or changing it during the evening, input from roommembers is always appreciated.

After a really bad race at La Sarthe, where i got knocked out by a Lagger, I got a really nice car and we went to Suzuka with weather. There I had the best race of the evening, and on last lap going through spoon, I got disconnected :(
Only race I had a chance to beat Mr. Volcano in his slow Vectra.

Maybe I'll join the shuffleheads tonight late after work, see you guys then.

I really enjoy shuffle racing and have had some brilliant races lately but I'm also frustrated at the lack of interesting cars. Sure it's fun to race ff cars for a change but after 5 races of nothing but FF the understeer starts to get to me.

The most infuriating part is that ONCE have I seen someone shuffle race with a stratos (which is my favorite car) but never have I had the pleasure to dominate with this tight beast.

Also I wish there were slightly faster classes available. Most servers in gt5 online have really fast cars to race but finding slower races is harder. 200-300hp class in shuffle would be great.

The suzuka race was great sven, my vectra was so slow on the straight that I could only follow you :)

About shuffle ratio I like best 0,but 2-3 is ok too because you get a wider range of cars. And often more RWD cars:)

Nice to see Sven1972BE brag so much about us. I was a bit to busy doin' the glitch thing on Nürburg lately. But now that it's patched I will throw myself fully into the shuffle racing again!!!

Hi..

Here is the guy who turned Sven on the first fast part on Nurb.. Im still fealing bad about it.. :/ :dunce::dunce::dunce::dunce::dunce::scared:

But..there is only 1!!!! way of playing GT5 online.. its SHUFFLING..
And these guys here..(you know who you are..don't hide in the back Stav...) :sly:

Are some of THE best guys i have met online..

Thanx for the good time..and..see you soon :)

Greatings
Marko

Hi Shuffleheads. I haven't been on line for a while. My old 80GB Fatty died on me (hd busted) :grumpy:

Got my new one yesterday, and luckily I had a game-save on my pc from beginning of March, so I don't have to start over completely. Looking forward to some shuffelin' tonight :)

I also like the shuffle race's (I hardly do anything else in GT), but sometimes the cars aren't really in the same league. Today I've done a few today in which I was 5 second's a lap quicker (on Rome and laguna seca), and that was mostly due to the car, while before those two races I was driving on the nordschleife and was losing 10 seconds a lap, while I'm not the slowest driver out there (I've raced some of you, PSN = NL_joost). Normally though, at least 4 drivers have a chance of winning, making shuffle races more fun than the normal races.

Anyway, hopefully the next few shuffle race's will be close again :).

Shuffle racing is the way forward. A little microcosm of that GT online should be.

Ref Sven.... abaxas = the_xeriff (PSN)

Feel free to add me if you are a shuffler. Sometimes I play with the wheel, other times the pad. But always happy for whatever car the shuffle gods give me.

One thing that does irk me is track choice. Shuffle racing tends to be more fun on wide circuits, as not everyone is always 100% in control of their cars. It just turns into a clank fest on tracks like London.

Another familiar face, the family is growing !

Work prevents me from playing this week, I'm realy missing it, and looking forward to staurday when I'll be joining or starting a room.

As some of the frequent shufflers read and post here, I would like to know your interest in the following.

Ade has been testing tyrewear, I believe about 15 laps of an average circuit is about maximum use.
We were talking about having a sort of endurance race, with at least one pitstop.
An alternative could be just running about 10 laps, and making 1 pit stop mandatory.

The room should be close to or full, as to keep it interesting for all levels of drivers.
we would need to agree on a track, and the shuffleratio.
should interest be big, first available times for me are next sat sun and mon evening. cet.

Alas Sven, I think we can forget changing for tyres: I just ran 20 laps round GVE in an 82 quattro. Best lap was lap 6 with a 1'23.7 and my last lap (28 minutes later:ouch:) was a 1'24.3 with plenty of life left on the indicator too.
Jeez these comfort softs last ridiculously long. Please fix this PD. They should last 5-7 laps at the most
So, there's no way we are going to have to stop for tyres in shuffle racing and 28 mins at shuffle speeds is boring boring boring. We're lucky if we get people to stay for more than 5 laps of any track...

This outage is taking too long.

As these are road cars with normal tyres, i say we meet up in our own car and do some races.
We'll do the Nürb tomorrow, Madrid the day after, Rome next, La Sarthe, Monaco,Spa,...

no ramming please

A bit of positive news for us shuffleheads: The shuffle-bug seems to be fixed with the new update. No more autokick when you're not in the race :D (At least, it worked for me last night).

Hope to see the usual suspects shufflin' tonight!

Love the shuffle mode and really enjoy racing with you lot when i find your shuffle rooms, nice clean close driving. Cheers for the good hosting.
