Ok, I was setting up a new game for a friend of mine. Just basic stuff, so he could get around and play a bit more. Did the B license exams with golds, and then went to setup a Vitz 1.5 RS on my main game save. Just mild power output 140 hp or so, and suspension stuffs.

So I bought the Vitz from my main game with the second game, and then... went to save the new game data. Well, outta habit, I just kinda rushed through the save menu... and then went to load my main game data.

Imagine my surprise when my 100 car garage, and 2.2 mil credits... are now a Miata and Vitz, and 4 grand in the bank :dunce:

So well, no more testing for a bit from me, and I'll still give what advice I can.. but all my settings and the lost are lost. To cope, I'm playing Metroid Prime 2, which I just got. I'll get back to work on the GT3 stuff next week probably... starting with golds, using the Miata to win the Trueno, using the Trueno to get another Miata, selling a Miata, and buying an MR2 GT-S, and using the Vitz 1.5 RS I get to take care of most everything FF in game :P

Well, at least I get to have an uber nice win % now, since I know what I am doing :sly:

But has anyone else done this, or am I the only :dunce:
 
Never happened to me. At least you're in the know now. How's Metroid going? Did you finish the first Prime?
 
Do you have a non Sony memory card? I've lost all of my data twice one the Playstation 1 & once on the PS2 before I decided to only use Sony's cards.
 
Naw, bought Sony memory cards... but it was user error.

Echoes is going well, though I wish it had a better OST at this point... too... quiet and just ambient noise. Only a few places have music so far.

Yeah, I complete the first Prime a few times.... second run thru was a hard mode game, 100%, in under 10 hours. I'm a big Metroid fan, have been since the first game, along with all the others. Super Metroid is still my fav though
 
Yeah Super Metroid will have to go down as the best one ever! I haven't been able to finish Prime. I played all the way up to the impact crater but didn't think I had enough life and bombs/missles. So I started again and have reached the impact crater. I find it hard to finish off the boss where you must use the Phazon gun. I have a few games on the go at the moment and don't think I'll ever get to finish this superb game, which is a great shame.
 
Well, the trick to the last aspect of Prime, the essence of Prime, is all in how read the cycle it goes thru. Once you find the pattern for the visors, and learn the noise for avoiding the shock, the big problem comes down to the lesser Metroids. Just power bomb them... kills them all, instantly, even the phazon mutants. Makes life... much easier.

Its a good game, finish it :D

well ive never had the same thing hapen to me but i was 10% in when i loaded instead of saving so it wasnt a big deal so i restarted with buying the pt cruiser and im now at 95% complete. now gt3 has been put back on the shelf im content with 95% completion as im just waiting for gt4 to be released and im also been playing gta san andreas for the past 3 weeks so all my attention has been on that game.

Gta san andreas is awesome well worth the wait there is so mush to do plus the cars are great i.e. the bullit which resembles the gt40 and its realy fast almost 2 fast plus u can modyfy it and put nitro on it which makes it even faster.
 
Yes, this has happened to me. A bit different though. I turned the PS2 off while it was saving and I lost everything and had to start again.

Buy a gameshark, then you can backup your important games to HDD.
 
Hey, Azureman, sorry to hear about that. Luckily I've escaped making that mistake, though I have lost cars I had set up perfectly, or gold license tests and other things like that by not saving after a session.

And no, you're definitely not the only one! Good luck getting back to where you were.

A similar thing i did a while back, when i finally managed to beat the Elise /Deep forest/ series, after 8 trials, after screaming in victory and pointing the m finger at the tv.... hehehe, i was so tired, being 2;15 am, i then shut off the console and went to sleep... only to realize the next morning that.............I din't save the game :ouch: :( Took me another 6 trials do beat it again :scared: but by this time, i had pasted a note by the console's shut off botton, reminding me: Did you save the game?? :indiff:

Happened to me on GT2 once was playing round with some settings on my backup game and accidentally saved over my 80% or more complete game with now loses. I got lucky though since I gave my sisters boyfreind a copy of it and i managed to get the game back but I had to all the enduros all over again.

Hope your new game is going well.
 
Well, played GT3 for a bit.

Did the B Licenses, got the Miata, took that out and did the Sunday Cup, got the Trueno, slapped some T2's on it, did the Clubmen's Cup, sold that Miata, and then bought the Vitz 1.5 RS that I had tuned...

Found it had been upgraded, with a stage 1 turbo and 2nd stage exhuast. Did the Midway Rev Turbo race, smoked that 3000GT :D Lacks the umph though to keep up on the other two races.

So I headed over the Vitz race after slapping T2s on it, smoked that easy, and got another Vitz 1.5 RS. Then I did the FF races, and got my Pink Vitz 1.5 RS, the Pitz :D

Outta boredom, I bought a Vitz Euro Edition (1.3L) Cause well, I like the Vitz. Its Rose Pink Metallic, to embarrass people with more :sly:

And took my leftover money and got an MR2 GT-S, cause well, that cars is the CAR.

So my garage is like this right now.

lol that's like the opposite of me. I always save, all the time. Even if I can't remember if I just saved, I usually save it again to be sure.

I wouldn't care too much if I did lose my GT3 data. OK I would care, but only because of the lost replays. I wouldn't care about losing the cars at all, I never use most of them anyway. And the licenses are always fun to gold again and again and beat your old times :sly:

I don't care about % win ratio, % completion, I never even look at those anyway. All really I care about are the cars which I enjoy driving, and they can be won back easily enough. As long as I have a racing skyline, a viper Oreca, a viper concept, an elise, and a few others, I'm happy.
