I'm sure you guys have already read the other threads about the new 911 wheel coming out. and to me, it really looks better than the g25. I bought the g25 from frys, tested it out and returned it.
The force feedback in the g25 is phenomenal, with dual 40 watt force feedback motors...
I was really expecting a lot when i opened the box and set it up and when I finally sat down with it, i was kind of disappointed.
the 6 speed H pattern shifter feels so plastic and like such a child's toy. (no offense, I really do like the wheel, but this really bugged me)
I guess it wouldn't bug me as much if it was cheaper, but for that much, they could have at least worked on the shifter a bit more.
The wheel itself has nice leather around it and the pedals are pretty nice, although they are spaced too close together, and i highly doubt that any car has pedals so close and has the clutch, break, and gas pedal at the same level.
Something else about the g25 is the loud noise it makes when turning the wheel.
The porsche wheel is said not to have that nuisance because of its smooth and silent belt drive.
The clutch, brake, and gas pedals are also more realistic, are spread apart like an actual car
I've been checking out the playseat evolution, it looks like it could fit my needs, but it does look a little dinky compared to the vision racer, which I am now interested in, but im not sure about the compatibility with the porsche wheel.
Originally, I was planning to get the g25 with a playseat evolution and a high wattage buttkicker, which would cost me a ton.
I figure the g25 price should drive down a lot soon, I saw it go down to 220 2 days ago and its been out for a while...but i think i'm just going to wait for the porsche wheel.
I, like many of you, have been lookin up crap to make the most out of my future gt5 experience.
the porsche wheel has 2 vibration motors and one huge force feedback motor, basically the equivalent of the dual g25 ffb motors and feeling more bumps in the road i suppose.
The site reads that the shifter will seemingly have a much better feel as if you're really shifting into gear.
I really don't think logitech will be coming out with a new wheel until the actual release of gt5 if they even do.
The porsche wheel is coming out the same time as GT5
I believe.
I have been constantly checking for updates on the porsche wheel, but to no avail.
I keep checking for the price drop of the playseat evolution, it has an average of about a month of dropping 50 bucks and going back up to 300. Next time it goes to 250, I think i will grab it. Not trying to advertise, just to help

So back to the question, anyone like me?
Suggestions?
I don't think im going to build my own cockpit. and I want a descent one so the playseat evo looks good 'nuff, but yeah that bar in the middle is kinda whack. Please update me if you guys have any new news on the porsche wheel! Thanks =)
