Anyone else love the Ford Falcon XR8?

Thanks to the PSN being down, I had no access to my spare cash by way of my B-Spec drivers.. but then it came... one of the most elusive cars in the game.

And I had only 8k. Well, this may be my only chance. Sell Everything.

I cleared out my garage of any car that could be sold, even if it was only sellable for a penny. All the LM cars that I worked so hard to collect had to be scrapped, so I could get this rare machine. I made my 1.2 Mil, and then decided to go buy it.

Wow.

600 BHP, but It's so manageable! The grip seems endless, and yet it still puts the power to the road enough to crush all of the GT-500 and DTM cars. I was really amazed.

So tell me, does anyone else feel that this is one car you must have? Or was it a waste of money, decent cars, and time?
 
As a complete Ford nutter who's life revolves around ford I was always going to but and love all ford in any game.
But Falcon XR8 is an underrated car, It handles really well on my G25 and bags of power and smooth delivery.
The only hinder to it is its weight as it makes it hard to categorise the car with other cars in online races, But it works well on the Performance Points system.
Also the rear wheel dont seem to keep much heat in them which can make the fonts wear faster.
But all in all I would day its more than worth the price tag, But as I said I am a ford nutter LOL.

I could have gave you a level 21 ticket, but we are shutdown.

Fun car to drive, sounds good. I think my CLK Tourer and Opel Astra are better overall though.
 
Yeah, it's a terrific car. Set up right, it can hang on equal ground with the SuperGT and JGTC cars, and sounds so much better. :)
 
I almost kept it from a level 21 ticket, but I was after the Camaro LM so I rebooted. When I have time to let Bob do the FGT events i'll use the ticket for the Falcon.
 
I loved it in GTPSP, but its one of 8 non tradable cars I don't have, not even seen it in the UCD once. Can't wait to get it, what a car.
 
it drives great I had one of the best online races of my life with the xr8 I joined a dtm only room and whooped some ass bigtime at grand valley east, they never saw it coming lol.
Just a shame theres no high end races that it is eligable for.

Dislike this car. I remember when I first got I took it out on Tokyo, one of the wider courses, and it demanded that I use every inch of the road. Not my style so I ended up hitting the walls like a pinball machine. It collected dust until RKM posted a tune for it that greatly helped, yet I still don't use it much.
 
I've had the Falcon for a while. It repeatedly shows up in my UCD, and I've seen many in online races, so I never thought it was rare.

I like it.

I've been looking for this car....well since I got the game. I refresh my UCD constantly and still yet to even see it let alone have the money to buy it once I do.
 
I would love to love this car, but even after 800 game days or so I'm still yet to see it in the UCD :(.
 
When I bought this car, I quickly went to the Nurburgring to test it out. Sure enough it is not what I was expecting. I love the handling! For a big car, it sure is nimble through the corners and so planted to the road. The handling is comparable to the Audi A4 touring car IMO.

And I check UCD regularely.

Hang in there ! On day 1196 , it finally appeared in my UCD !

I'm a fan , its up there with the '01 M3 GTR Race car in my books. So much fun to drive and very forgiving even when pushed a little too far. Driving it just makes me wish PD would do a current day premium Holden and Ford V8 supercar.

I second that - I love the Ford and the BMW. The Ford is really just all around great.

I've only raced it once online but found it too heavy to compete in the PP range (600?) I was racing at. Cornered well, but really lagged on the straights.
 
Great car, almost won a race around the Nurburgring online when the other racers had the turbocharged DTM racers and a bunch of other supercars. Unfortunately the host was a bit... unfair, he knocked me off the road on the last corner. TWICE!! When the room went to Indy he did the exact same thing so I swung it round and plowed straight at him going the wrong way.
