Anyone else not interested in buying all the cars in GT5?

The biggest constraining factor to buying all the damn things is the clumsiness of the interface experienced when actually going through the process of buying. SELECT UCD OR DEALERSHIP>>>SELECT VEHICLE>>>CLICK TO BUY>>>CONFIRM BUY>>>CUT SCENE>>>DECLINE OR ACCEPT TO USE>>>GO BACK TO MAIN MENU.

Going from memory (Lord knows Ive done it enough times for it to commit to memory) so I may have even missed a few steps!

But can't PD engineer it so that you can "buy multiple"??? Like a shopping cart & Checkout. I dont buy half the cars simply because of the boredom factor of the process!

The slower (and less interesting) cars are also the cheapest, mostly. 20.000 credits for a car in the game isn't much, and when you already have 20,000,000 credits you could as well spend it on something instead of missing money when racing.

I don't drive all cars although I do try many of the cars out, I enjoy to just pick a car and race with it in arcade mode, kinda mess around and get the feel of it, even if it's a crappy car.

I believe to have almost all cars (never one pops up in the UCD that I do not have) and end up buying sports car and heavily modifying them not to lose money. I'll end up buying the Red Bull to clean up my accounts again.

Wanted to paint them differently when I tried them, so I remember.

This is the biggest reason I don't buy many cars. Takes way too long :sly:

Yep, and (a bit off topic, sorry) also it grates more than a little when you have to pay the same if you want to upgrade a Miata or a Zonda. 200k approx credits all in for all upgrades on a car bought for perhaps 10k credits. :-)

👍 This is also a major factor for me. I'd like to see the option to skip the cut scene as well as 'buy/select multiple'

I have DLC ticket's still not cashed in because i can't be bothered to go through the whole process 👎

I bought them all because I had to spend the money on something. :)
As far as collecting 0 mileage cars I can't be bothered but a lot of people enjoy that aspect of the game.
GT5 has something for everyone. 👍

Except I am a big skyline fan, So I buy every one without a doubt and even get them in different colors.

The same goes for pretty much every Japanese 80-90s car I deem good.

I'm the same, Ill never let a vauxhall pass by without getting it and I have an FGT collection. It depends on your view on 'interesting' I guess.
I think ill never have over 500 cars, the trade limit drives me crazy too! With 6 F2010/07 and 4 x2010's I cant even get any use from!

I'm only buying the less common cars in UCD right now but I have a tendency to buy everything I can. When I have time I go through and purchase my missing models just as a 'rainy day' kind of approach. If I ever want to drive it, it is there. Not concerned about 0/0/0 though.

You don't know wich cars will be, but you are already sure that you don't want them.
Interesting.

Just hit 700+ last night and I don't even try to collect all of them. I stay away from all the Miatas, Skylines etc... as I only want a few from different eras. I'd have even less total cars if there were only the option to restore the car to its original state after applying certain options. Gt's obsession with realism needs to be kept to actually driving the car. I understand them wanting to allow us the thrill of ownership but the 70' Chevelle that was my first car was the one I actually owned. Not the ones in my imaginary GT garage.

But there are those who enjoy collecting them, colors and all. Something for everyone is not a bad thing especially in a video game.

When I first got the game I highlighted every car I wanted on the list. The total came to 402. Right now my garage is around 450, thats the original 402 plus the dlc and some premium duplicates. Thats really all I'll ever need for this game.

I have about 350.

I don't plan on buying all of the trim levels, but will buy atleast one of each type. I just like racing all different types of cars.

I have over a 1000 but now I am going thru them weeding them out and trying to drive ones I haven't driven. I wish you could section off the garage better.:yuck:

YES Agreed - need to have better filtering, have often thought this. To section off more than just favourites. User defined sections - eg Daves Race Cars, Johns Nurburg faves, or whatever. Or to be able to archive the never used models, so we can still own them but they don't clog up the searches.

Just got my Collector's Trophy last night. My only duplicates are the ones that I either engine modded or weight reduced so I can have one for the stock races. Got them all the hard way, too.

The way I see it is you're either an overall car fan or a picky car fan (fanboy type). Theres nothing wrong with either type.

To those who say "why buy car you're never going to drive?" Just remember this only applies to you. I have 1200+ cars and I actually enjoy driving all of them (although I've only drive 65% of them so far).

"Variety is the spice of life"

I wasn't going to bother collecting them all but now i'm almost at 1300 cars....

I guess I only want to get to 1000 cars, get the trophy, and then I'll just get rid of many cars.

I originally kept to only cars that I wanted.... then I hit a wall where there wasnt anymore game progression left so I had a goal to get all the cars while I waited for more things to come up... Im 60 cars away from every car in the game and that number is shrinking. I do have a few duplicates but not a ton.... I did also find it fun hunting the UCD for what I wanted and making a plan to budget....

The good thing about the entire stock of cars is when you play with friends at your house (arcade mode) they have choices... Lots of them... also in seasonals you have the cars needed in your garage... no need finding them....

Then for the 0/0/0 cars.... I dont want all of them in that form... But I fancy Toyota Supras and Mazda RX7s... so I want each of those (the last generations) in every color in 0/0/0 just to stash away to have.... Those cars do make great trade bargaining chips too!
