Anyone else not interested in buying all the cars in GT5?

I don't think I'd have the patience to collect every car. Right now I'm coasting along happily at 60/70 cars in my garage. They're all cars I have either won and needed/wanted, cars I have won but they can't be sold (e.g - Tank Car, Dome Zero etc) Cars I've bought that I wanted/needed to race with, or cars I've bought purely for fun, like my 300bhp KA I embarrass Aston Martin's in.

I've searched! Nothing came up.

I have about 190 cars at the moment and still loads I want, like all the premiums and all the race cars etc, and rare cars.

I have no interest at all in clogging up my garage with a load of slow cars I will never use just so I can say I've got all the cars.

And all this 'cars with 0 mileage' is totally lost on me I'm affraid.

I mean if they were real cars I'd understand.

I laughed when I read this, especially the part about zero mileage...lol. You are right on dude. I just don't get it either. I only want the cars in my garage that I can win races with. Having endless versions of the same cars like RX-7's and GTR's seems pointless to me.

Very simple solution. I check the UCD after every race. What cars I don't have, I buy. It is to the point now that I very rarely run across one that I don't have. It is part of the game (car collecting).

👍

There's no way I can bring my self to push the 'Buy' button on a Toyota Aristo, Prius, Suzuki Wagon RRRRRRRRRRRRR, etc. etc. I just can't do it.

I only have about 210 cars and I only want one more (aside from DLC cars) and that's the premium Gran Turismo Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car.

I mean when I go online its all the usual fast cars in nearly every race, if more people raced a wider variety of cars them maybe there was something to be said for buying all the cars.

No one wants to race slow cars really, personally I don't mind though.

Why buy a car you will never drive ever? I buy cars that interest me. It's not like if I had millions of dollars in real life I would go buy every model of Mustang (I hate Mustangs excluding the Foxbody and some vintage models). It's not like I would park a bunch of Ford Tauruses and Hyundai concept cars next to my Ferraris and invite MTV cribs over.

Like I said, I buy cars that interest me.

I have, however, discovered a few cars that I really like through UCD. The TVR V8S is one of my favorite cars in the game, because of its look, its sound, its turning capabilities, and everything else about it. It keeps pace with a lot of more modern, race-tuned cars and looks pretty doing it. So yes, I feel like UCD still has its purpose for me even if I don't treat the cars like pokemon.

I have to say i never started out wanting to collect every car but with the update that added the ticks it became more prominent to me. I then started trading and collecting more its it's gone from there, got almost 1100 cars now, quite a few colour variants and i'm only missing 37 models that i can actually get for my region :D And i'm quite proud of myself. As soon as i'm at the stage where i have what i want i will put a lot more time into online racing :)

I'm mainly interested in race cars. JGTC, LM, LMP, rally etc. I am a Skyline fan so I a good number of them but I have driven them all. The only time I buy slow crappy cars is when its required for a race or event. I keep them if I buy it though. Setting at about 350 cars now. I bought all the RM cars this weekend. Just got to tune them now :)

Exactly my thoughts. Both of those things.

I started buying up cars from UCD and currently have 22 different variations of MX5 in the standard garage alone! What's the ****in point?

I'll be glad when the network is back up.

are the cars slower if your garage is clogged up?

You're proud of pushing the buttons more times than anyone else?..lol. Buy cars, tune them yourself, drive them yourself, and beat the rest of the world online...be proud of that...lol.

I have four classes of cars.

1. Cars I have won.
2. Racing cars.
3. Cars I want.
4. Stupid cars.

How about category 5. Cars I actually drive ? ;-)

LOL- I like having the cars I have and there are still cars I want I guess. (I'm only at like 350) As ka said- I simply don't drive all the ones I have now...

So I have absolutely NO interest in acquiring EVERY single car in the game.

Am at around 600 or 700, So many I dont even care to know :-)

I lazily buy one or two when I browse the UCD. It's nice to have a large range to dip into, especially when the seasonals demand a certain type. Rather like having a huge music collection :-) - never listen to it all but its nice to have the right track for the right occasion! I am like you, I have no interest in completing the collection, but I guess if i get to 1000+ i may adopt a certain "completist" attitude ; who knows? thats the fun of this game... constantly evolving goals. Like now, Im working on perfecting my knowledge of Nurburgring. What a wonderfully deep game.

i dunno man, something sweet about being able to take ANY car you want out whenever you're feeling in whatever mood.

The main reason I buy cars now is to ensure I don't have 20,000,000 in the bank, so that the next batch of cash I get doesn't just 'disappear', like all the xp points. Sad, huh? I earned just over 3 mil last night just from running the new seasonals. I probably ought to play online more - you don't seem to gather as much cr.

I'm pushing 420 cars and its getting hard to find cars i could ever ever want

I mean when you grasp the fact that literally half the cars in the game are duplicates, you see theres really no point in collecting them all

I cant believe I have not seen this thread before. I totally agree, I have 400 or so cars and only buy racing cars and unusual/interesting road cars. There is only so many skylines/miatas someone needs :)

Nah man I am exactly like you. I see TONS of crap cars I don't have or care about popping up in the USD and OCD all the time that I can easily afford and I just cant be stuffed getting them because there is no point. So I will never 100% the game because that woudl require me to do in my eyes pointless, not fun or something to be proud of.

Except I am a big skyline fan, So I buy every one without a doubt and even get them in different colors.

The same goes for pretty much every Japanese 80-90s car I deem good.

I buy them all because I love cars. :) The more I have the better! The reason i play GT5 is to be able to drive as many different cars as possible. If I was only interested in racing I would propably still play some PC sim as they tend to do racing cars and serries better there. GT5 gives better "just driving around in a car that I happen to fancy at the moment" feeling. :)

I have just over 400 cars now. There are probably less than 50 more cars that i'd be interested in acquiring out of the already existing selection. Most of those will be the alternative liveries on the Nascars and Super GT cars.

I'm not planning to collect all the cars too, normally when I browse through the UCD I would just think hmmm wonder how this car feels like to drive at the nurburgring then I will buy it, I like to buy the LMP or race cars although I rarely use them though

The slower (and less interesting) cars are also the cheapest, mostly. 20.000 credits for a car in the game isn't much, and when you already have 20,000,000 credits you could as well spend it on something instead of missing money when racing.

I don't drive all cars although I do try many of the cars out, I enjoy to just pick a car and race with it in arcade mode, kinda mess around and get the feel of it, even if it's a crappy car.
