Yup, can't tell you how many stories I've read about people OD'ing on Aspartame. I think that's what Heath Ledger died from... and Amy Winehouse.

What is OD'ing?

Guess you made fun of my post?

Soda Pop tears my stomach up really bad. Gives me bad acid reflux and other major issues. I dont drink it often at all.

I decided to start limiting myself about two years ago, to only 1 a week. That goes up or down though, depending on my social calendar (I tend to favour mixed drinks when out). For a little while at the start of the year I got back into it, but over the summer I've cut it more severely, sticking to juice as a mix if I'm out, and maybe one can a week. Not only does it do wonders for the stomach, but it means no more harsh chemicals on my teeth, so I'm all for it.

Not going to lie, I do miss my Code Red Mountain Dew. But I have to keep telling myself it's for the best, especially since I'm planning on getting in better shape physically. Now if only this 114 degree weather would go away so I can start hiking again. :indiff:

Two biggest soda addicts I've known were on Code Red. I've had one before, I don't get it. Those guys were hardcore though. They'd arrive with a 20oz, or liter bottle, cracking one open as soon as they sat down at work in the morning.

School started back up this week.

I'm starting to buy double gulps (from 7/11) every time I pass by it. :nervous:

I try to even it out by hoarding cases of water, but I do know it's not as helpful as if I didn't drink any soda at all. :nervous:

GOD I hate myself. :grumpy:

For those who don't know what a double gulp is:

I'm on my second one this afternoon. :p

I figure I drink around 5 cans a day of diet sodas, more if I'm going out for lunch where I just order a bottomless glass. I can't stand coffee, so I need something to pick me up in the morning and keep me going.

I feel like people in general are too fixated on health these days, and that more than we would care to admit depends on genetics. My grandma has smoked like a chimney since the 40s and she still golfs twice a week. Maybe the golfing has offset the smoking? I don't know, but I do know, to sorta quote Red Foxx, that I would feel like a damn fool lying in the hospital dying of nothing.

I try to regulate my soda intake. I keep myself limited to less than 2 a day. Often just one.

About the same here, I rarely refill my drink (unless it's water or iced tea), but I usually have one energy drink every other day. I also drink a lot of coffee (2-4 cups a day), which isn't much better for you. Depending on how hot it is outdoors, I'll drink between 3-5 bottles of water a day, more if I'm doing more strenuous activities.

I tried that once, but i started to lose weight and i don't really need to lose weight.I was 139lbs at the time and i lost 5lbs going off of sodas.

I may have 2 a day now.I also drink lots of of water and 3 cups of Green Tea(which is good for flushing out toxins in your system). So the green Tea pretty much helps with balancing out that 1 or 3 sodas you may have.

The Green Tea has improved how i feel now.I don't get that sluggish feeling close to the end of a workday anymore and it lets me have enough energy to hit my workouts hard after a long day at work.Well also i have the added help of N.O. Explode :sly:

With the Water intake try out some Green Tea as well.I used to drink Energy Drinks every day so i was full of Toxins. After a few weeks of Green Tea i was feeling much better.

Note to everyone, stay away from Energy Drinks. They are the worst form of Sodas.

I get a thirst for it a couple times a week. My pop of choice is 50/50, as colas have become rather nasty to my palate.

I'll keep that in mind as I slam monster vodkas down my throat tomorrow night.

I remember when i used to do that.I didn't know if i was coming or going

Now i'll have an occasional Whiskey on the Rocks.

Yeah, not my favorite but I can put up with it 2-3 times a year.
I'll make sure to mix it up with some vodka and tequilla shots followed by some spaten oktoberfest and maybe some Victoria.

Wow.That's a lot of mixing :scared:

You're scared? How do you think I feel? My friends have been on a mission to get me wasted on my birthday for years.

*looks at thread title*

Weird. I didn't know soda pop could get you wasted. ;)

It keeps me going in classes.

Going out of classes, you mean? With that amount, I hope the washroom's nearby!

I rationalize my occasional pops by reminding myself I'm one of very few people I know who don't drink coffee. And well, Dr. Pepper is a hard one to let go of completely...

I'm small as it is. 5 foot 6 and weighed 130 before my gallbladder surgery. After the surgery I lost 8 pounds and am not sure where I am at now. I have lost some weight in my arms though. My budget doesn't really allow me to get a gym membership, so I have to do it on my own.

I can help with that.

Go out and get you a pair of 10lb or 15lb dumbells.Which ever you feel the most comfortable with.

Next lookup this workout. http://www.menshealth.com/spartacus/workouts/.

I've been doing this workout for 5 weeks now and i'm finally able to do 3 cycles of it now.I also weighed 139 when i started and now i weigh 147lbs.On my other 2 days i'm doing cardio and ab workouts.

Make sure to have plenty of water ready as you will sweat like no other.I've almost yacked a couple of times too. It's as intense as P-90X,but nowhere near as ridiculous.

I drink 1.5 liters of Coke every day, to assist my medication...

Doctors order ftw!

If we're going to continue down this road, let's take it into the Sports Forum but hot damn! I just did a few of them and I already love it! Doesn't hurt that I love the show, too... :p

Back on topic, I go in streaks where I can go weeks without any soda and then I'll be drinking 4 cans per day. I'm currently in the soda-less part of the cycle.

I drink around three litres (two 1.5l bottles) a week, mainly Coca-Cola Light - I guess that's Diet Coke in the US - or a local orange soda, also light. Light because in my opinion the taste is more refreshing than the overly sweet taste of sugar and naturally it helps with not gaining weight for nothing. I probably could give it up but not until I find another combination of good taste (rules pure water out), little to no energy (rules juice out) and affordable price I just won't.
