After going from 19th to about 150 overall in the first 2 days I have decided to wait it out to see how fast everyone gets instead of wasting time everyday trying to improve knowing I'll be beat out. I'll always seem to go faster when the top guys improve or figure out some new line, anyone else gonna do this?

It has crossed my mind, but then again, all that time that I'd be wasting ...can be practice!

So, to answer your quest., no ...I've been doing the Academy day to day since it began lol

Depends on how confident you are of your skills. If you know you can crack top 50 or whatever the cutoff is in the final hours, then by all means wait it out and spoil someone's day at the last minute. I did this for the Hyundai tournament on Forza, waiting till the last few hours to post a time. I will probably do the same for the GT Academy, although most of the wait will be due to waiting till I can afford to get PS3/GT5.

my vote is to just go now, if you wait til the end, you are right about the time - but up until then you can practice! I think I would be kicking myself if I waited until the last minute and then attempted only to miss and realize "if i just had a couple more hours!"

I'm going to spend a couple days on it and see where it puts me. Then I may take a break and come back a few days before the deadline to better my times. Not going to spend a whole lot of time on it.

Will you be too busy with the SPEC miata series in your sig? That looks like a lot of fun. I actually was on there to build the same car (used for the Tsukuba enduro). Lots of fun, but I gotta say that the Sport-softs feel more like Hankook c214 c91's or A6's (or faster), and not like the near arrive-shave-and-drive Toyo RA-1's (probably more like Sport Hards).

I may drop that series down to Sport Mediums. (shhhh, don't tell them!) :D

Edit: at this point would rather race in the spec miata series if I can't make top 128.

Probably a good idea...if not sport hards (I think the sport mediums are a bit faster than the v710's I have on my e36, and those are definitely faster than the Toyo's that spec miatas run). During the Tsukuba race that car was glued to the track. You want people sliding into each other for position just like real spec miata racing. That's my <$0.02, since I'm not even signed up (conflicts with my go-karting). Good luck!

I'm not putting a whole ton of effort into it yet, just kind of feeling it out, I think I will get a bit more serious about it at the beginning of next month.

I can't run until I can borrow my friends PS3. At which point I will run until I have beat every last tenth out of all the cars.

I think I will be taking a brake for a while from the competition.

Tutoring services still available :)

Lol chote i need to add you for ***** and giggles.

Ive taking a break pretty much every day lol. Play for about an hour see what times i get then do something else. I'm to busy trying to tune my demon lord to be unstoppable on the ring.

Just watching your ghost shave 1.5 seconds off my tsukuba time. Thanks. :) I'm at 1:06.505 but last I checked I was still in the top 128 overall. Just need to work on Capering. About 5 seconds down lol.

I'd suggest that if you're gonna run you'd do so now, because if you stay in the top 25 (national) for the first 5 weeks you'll get a free DFGT. Me personally i just need to stay in the top 10 till the end of the second week, then i can get back to some online racing.
