Anyone else switch to ABS 0?

Some car I switch it off. (Like SuperGt and Ferrari F1)

When I switch it off, I will found a straight to adjust the Brake balance Controller (For me this is "Brake Power Controller").

For me, I will set the brake powers could let the wheels nearly lock by Full brakes.

With my SV on the recent lambo seasonal I use auto gear box and all other set to 0 or disabled. With an exception on the last race where at night I need the line to show me the way.

I did on F40 which IRL, doesn't have ABS and god, it handles fantastic and it makes me respect more to the car and I rarely brake to full strength all the way even with ABS 1 as I use the technique that I learned from GT5 book which is helpful especially on rainy courses or surface

Try slowly lifting off the brakes as you turn in, it allows the car to rebalance as you're suddenly asking more of the rear tyres.

I drive some pc-sims and other car games with the same setup and gt5 is the only one that has this magical snap oversteer on corner entry.

Plus it is a bit strange that abs fixes it anyway. After all abs or no abs it should over rotate if you come off the brakes too abruptly but with abs on you can brake any way you like without any ill effects. There is defenately some kind of driving aid that comes on with the abs. Plus that corner entry oversteer is just strange...

More or less since day one. I would recommend to use a very low (0:0 actually) brake balance for
older cars, the braking feels almost like GT Legends
I must give that a try, I love GTL :cool: Unfortunately, my pc isn't man enough to really do it justice :(

Been running ABS 0 since day one eith lightly modded G25 pedals (stronger spring).

Thats what i get alot, with abs off. And that is why i hate having it off. I don't race on PC sims, or real life, so i can't comment, how real or not it is.

Started today. No abs.....i was wrong, it improves breaking alot! You stop alot faster. Great for F10.

I use ABS "0" usually in the cars made before 2000. Brake balance is adjusted that the tires nearly locks in hard braking.

ABS=1 for me.
I just startet to gold my last Silver-Licenses and had two IC-Tests where I zeroed ABS.
IC-1 => 0.1 seconds under gold (1000m brake with Aston Martin)
IC-7(??) => 0.1 seconds under gold (Impreza at Toscana Rally track)

DS3 user => I need a bit ABS

I have been giving it a try.

What do the brake bias numbers represent; pedal sensitivity? Help!

Clearing that up will help I am sure.

Without ABS I run 2/1 or 3/3 brake bias (so far)

Interesting you bring this up. I had tried in GT4 but hated every moment of not having ABS. I recently created a new PSN ID for GTP and started a new game and took off all aids. Would usually use the driving line and abs but now that I dont use any aids, it makes the game much more challenging.

I feel like running no ABS lets you get a good feel for how a car reacts to its weight being thrown around and how that reacts to when you apply braking force.

I approve.

In the "tuning" menu it represents the brake pressure level from 0 - 10 split between the front and rear "systems" independently.

In the "driver options" menu, the higher the abs level is, the higher % of grip is devoted to cornering, the lower the level (1) the higher the % of grip is devoted to braking. Then finally (0) is capable of locking the brakes completely.

I do the same as other people in this thread; abs 0 if I can adjust the brake balance, if not then I use abs 1. With 5/5 brake balance almost all cars are undrivable but with 4/1 which I usually use it's great.

I'm not sure if no abs gives you any sort of advantage, but neither do worse tyres but I still use them. People who play this game with aids (especially skid recovery) on and max tune all their cars with racing softs are really missing half the fun of this game which is a shame. With no aids on and with tyres that fit the grip of the car you can really get PC sim levels of excitement out of this game. Try doing a hot lap of the nurburgring with the lancia stratos rally car, sports medium tyres and no aids and you'll see what I mean.

👍

ABS 0 with a DFGT is madness. You just touch the brakes a bit and you're going into the wall.

Deadzone and sensitivity adjustments please!

There's no way I can drive cleanly with ABS set to 0 with the DS3. With the DFGT I usually set it to 0 for testing and online. It's a challenge but it makes driving much more rewarding.

It's probably even better with a decent set of pedals that give good feedback... I really want to give the Fanatec and thrustmaster pedals a shot.

Set brake bias to 3/1 or 3/0 (F/R) and try it. Go down to 2/0 for comfort tires. Experiment with it a little, you'll be surprised at how controllable the brakes are and how finely you can tune brake-on oversteer, or trail-braking oversteer.

One of the "trickiest" cars out there with no abs IMO is the Enzo (in stock trim) - the braking is very much on the edge.. The car likes to rotate and seems very capable of locking the brakes at Monza ..... Wow ! Very fun once you get used to it though.
