They even added the little "cruise" filter. So that goes to say PD knows about these cruise rooms, and that they're allowing them.

Not everyone feels like going 100+ in a race everyday. Some people just want to chill and cruise with friends or play cops and robbers or whatever. They're not affecting the people who play GT6 strictly to race. If you want to race, join a race room. If you want to cruise, join a cruise room. Simple.

We've been cruising online since GT5, and I don't see it coming to an end anytime soon. The vast number of cars, city tracks, etc helps contribute. People like it.

exactly there is no need for them you spend you normal life driving round at 30 mph i don't want to spend my time on a game doing the same speed

Some people like cruising online and others don't. Just because you don't like cruise lobbies doesn't mean they shouldn't exist at all.

What are you, Big Brother? Why does it matter what someone else does with the game? Do your own thing and everyone else will do theirs.

For a moment there I thought this was an argument against gay marriage. Same logic.

I'm with Johnny on this. Someone who prefers cruising, drag-racing or drifting for that matter, should have an opportunity to enjoy it if they wish to.

Completely agreed. Everybody doesn't have to enjoy their game the same way. I'm at a point where I prefer taking photos to any other aspect of the game.

What happened to the sort of rooms where i could join in get my new cars out or a car of my choice and race it against other people
This rarely ever happens in a civil manner.

If you don't like a certain style of driving, don't join the room and find what room you want. Just because you don't like one thing doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. Simple as that. 👍

I thought i was the only one who didn't get these 'cruise' lobbys! GT6 is a Racing Simulator, not a substitute of driving on the motorway.
Well GT has always been referred to as the "real driving simulator", not racing. And considering the quality of the "racing" in single player modes, I'd say it's far from being a racing simulator.

What's ruining online racing is the low amount of people that acually go online in GT6, imo. Modes like Drifting, Cruising, Dirty Shuffle, etc. were already present in GT5 but there were lots of people online so it wasn't that hard to find a room to your liking. I know a few people that are still playing GT5 online (I pop in from time to time, too), so maybe the situation on GT6 servers will improve once GT5 servers are shut down at the end of May and people make the transition.
*fingers crossed*

Out of curiosity, what's actually happening in those cruise rooms? People roleplaying as cops and civilians and applying traffic laws, right? But wouldn't a game like GTA5 be a much more suitable platform for this kind of fetish game mode?

@talkin_2_me
In cop rooms, the majority of the people are in sportscars and 1-3 people are in "police cars". They pull people who are speeding, reckless driving, etc. There's some role playing, but not much.

In cruise rooms (at least in my club), we meet at a certain place to wait for everyone to pick a car. Once everyone's there, we drive around the at 70-90 mph. There's usually "themes" so you always pick cars that you usually don't drive.

No, unless you wanna have a chance to get shot, blown up, or some other crazy way.
In a public session, sure, there will be blood. But you could always open a private session for friends only...unless you're saying your friends can't fight the urge to blow **** up, either. ;)

In cruise rooms...
Thanks for clarifying. Didn't know those two modes were different.

In our club, we've had a bit of a talk about it, but the admins wanted to keep it primarily GT6 only.
