using DS3, with default controls. Ever since GT3. I admit, I am a horrible driver online, but I am getting better. I also have L2/R2 set as accel/brake just in case I need to use it.
Played with the controller since GT1, but always felt a wheel would open the game up to it's full potential.
My dream is the full seat and mega expensive wheel. Just can't afford it right now. I do feel i need a wheel for total enjoyment and proper experience of GT5. I hate not being able to feel the tyres loosing grip or the back slipping out.
I reckon GT5 needs to be played with a wheel.

I got a G27 especially for GT5, but all the previous titles i used the standard playstation controllers that came with the console. (100% with all golds in GT4 using the pad)
I still use the gamepad sometimes, but to be honest it does not compare with using a wheel, improves the experience 10x.
Always use a controller, had a wheel and pedals but sold them, to be honest its nothing like real driving using the wheel, no g force, no bumps etc, dosent feel right to me.
The same goes for me! And it's not about money, I was fine with spending 180 euro for Signature Edition. The wheel just doesn't suit me - once I borrowed G25 for GT5P, but it just lacked the real car steering feel. And having the same wheel type with the same feedback for all 1000 cars - it's almost as unreal as DualShock
And, by the way, Kazunori also said that at home he has only gamepad.

I'm glad I didn't go for a wheel immediately, because since I used a DS for GT, GT2, GT3 and GT4, it lets me compare physics and gameplay changes a bit easier since I used the same controller for the whole thing.
In the process of doing some major cleaning and organizing around the house, so once I'm finished I might get a wheel setup for the living room, as my huge plasma is currently using up HALF of my bedroom space haha
I only use a DS3 for GT5 and I used a DS controller for all previous GT games. That being said I would still prefer using a wheel but I can't afford it.
haha dualshock since i was 6. used every gen, and had a racing wheel wen i was little. preferred the wheel, but i find a dualshock to be just fine for wat i need. maybe wen dirt 3 or something comes out shall i consider a wheel. xDD
Always used DS, since GT1. I've had a wheel for my pc once, it sucked so hard, I swore to myself I'd never get one again. Was years ago though, they might have improved them.
Yes, as a paperweight. Even before I bought the DFGT I never used the BullShart 3 controller because I still feel it's absolutely terrible and instead used the much better Dreamgear Shadow 6. I haven't used the BS3 as a PS3 controller since I purchased the Shadow 6 a year ago (or whenever it was; whenever the GT5 playable demo came out).
I use the controller (Shadow 6) for photography in GT5, but otherwise play exclusively with the DFGT wheel.
A poll would have been nice. I own a G25 but only use it if I want to do some realistic sunday club races and time trials, with clutch no ABS and so on.
The dualshock comes always in handy when I'm too tired to bring up the whole setup. Too lazy
