Anyone figure out what the "race quality" setting does?

Anyone figure out what exactly the "race quality" setting does for online races?

It eases your bandwidth load by diminishing the amount of times your PS3 communicates back and forth with the network. In theory lowest bandwidth will offer tightest control with no lag. Probably would see the most differences during peak periods with many people online, or in races with full 16 drivers. 👍

so it does nothing to the racing physics, graphic quality, tire wear or gas usage?
