Anyone going back to GT5?

Never.

GT5 was a nightmare. Not just the game itself but it was not worth the 5 year wait along with its painful delays. GT6 truly is what GT5 should have been in the first place. I won't miss it.

Not gonna touch GT5 for...ummm....The rest of eternity!!
All my favorite cars are back and look sexier than ever. Sure the course creator/GPS thingy ain't there yet but then again it's snowed over here so why bother. Still. The tracks are better (and by better I mean more like rollercoasters ie Matterhorn) and the cars are 1000x better. Why bother?

I don't think I could go back for some time, I might one day, I kept the game and my save file, but the only thing I miss is my well maintained high cr balance :) (oh and maybe the Top Gear test track, but not much).

what I miss the most was the tradings :indiff:
now all the cars are available which is good in a way,
but getting rare cars on GT5 was one of the best things for me

Nope. Put the disc back in the Collectors edition box and put in the archives. Already wrote down my tunes for a few cars I want to try to duplicate in GT6, so I have no reason to go back now.

Ah, interesting. I've not thought of doing that (tune comparisons), good idea.

I'm going back to finally get the 20,000,000 trophy and leveling up my aspec to 40. Also, I'm doing shuffle races on there since they took the option out in GT6.

Nope. Fired it up last night, ran a couple of races just to compare and honestly just cant do it. GT6 while not perfect just looks and feels better. I find the driving model more enjoyable, the visuals better overall(somethings took a hit/mostly improved) and honestly the AI to be much improved. Yeah, rubber-banding sucks but they seem to actively avoid contact for the most part. And while I'm well past the career in GT5, I do find the career mode in GT6 to be enjoyable. Is it the GT I have been waiting for? Certainly not but it is an improvement over 5.

I'm thinking of trading my GT5 copy with my cousin for a different game once I get GT6.

I'm 5 euros short for GT6, so one of you chaps is going to have to stay behind and do shuffle races with me.

I joined a shuffle race once, before I knew what they were. I'd got a good tune and setup on my car (EPSON NSX) and promptly waited for the race to begin. When the cut scene finished and I was sat in a Mini Cooper while some thief had my NSX up front laughing his gonads off.... Well you can imagine. First and last shuffle race I had and the last lobby I entered without class restrictions!

GT Academy physics completely ruined me for GT5. GT6 picked up where that left off so I don't think I could even if I wanted to I've just adapted too much already.

The ONLY reason would be TT on TGTT but I'll probably be too busy in GT6 to actually do it.

Not completely. GT6 physics is much more enjoyable than GT5 (Notice that I didn't say more realistic :) ). However, once the novelty wares off, I would likely go back for the enduros. I did all of them once. But, I had so much fun in 24h Nürburgring that I might do it again. Also, I kind of cheated on the la Sarthe (with X1, and plowing through the chicanes just to get over it). So, I might do that with a proper LMP car as well.

Edit: On the Indi 500, I did it with my son and daughter (9y and 11y at the time) where we would jump in and out of the seat during pit stops. That was so much fun.

Why make an extra long answer to this question while the answer is very clear. I guess i'll go with the family. I will weigh in the pros and the cons and then ask the peole in my province to run a referendum if at least 15% of the province thikns it should be discussed...

Aw lets cut the 🤬 crap ...

NO!

I might do that to get better feel of physics differences. I already noticed increased input lag and car seem to spin more easily.
Cars body gets more easily damage (rigidity), and with new physics there is more problems with any twist on body. Definitely more realism, but really really annoying on online when there is those amateurs around pushing.

Only reason why go back to GT5 is easier to handle those amateurs coz didn't have to leave after every race for fixing body..

I haven't noticed any input lag, and CERTAIN cars spin more easily because of the more realistic physics model

Not at all, only missing a few cars that I didn't really like driving to begin with. GT6 tire simulation and suspension with physics make GT5 feel like GT2's physics. GT5 had this on eggshells tire grip thing that changed from car to car which was weird. Some cars had nice grip others felt like you were driving on ice cubes...totally weird. GT6 tire grip feels so delicious, you actually feel the progressive loss incoming and you don't go from grip to slip like an on/off switch. What I found incredible is the grip, I haven't bought a single tire upgrade I drive on whatever tires cars come with. Yes, I'm still on comfort tires on my NSX prize car and sport hard on my Lancer. I intend to use stock tires throughout the entire game, no way in hell could I do that in GT5.

To me, going back to GT5 would be like trading in a Lexus for a Kia.
In other words, no.
