Anyone going back to GT5?

I'm slightly contemplating sticking with GT5 after reading this:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/body-rigidity-deteriorates-way-too-fast.292723/

500,000 to 1,000,000 credits to restore rigidity on most racecars.
...you are wearing out your car at almost the same rate as gaining credits.
I am beginning to wonder if it's programmed this way so that I may be forced to buy some in-game credits for real cash to carry on enjoying the game?
Would be ridiculous if people can't race their cars because they can't afford to fix them!

...And then of course there's this torturous excuse for tire sound effects:

It's tempting.

I'll probably go back every once in a while for the Kyoto photo locations.

If PD adds the GT5 photo locations to GT6, I will uninstall GT5 immediately.

Yes, to take pics of all my tunes.

That shouldn't work. As far as I'm aware, the tuning setups have been entirely changed. You know, they actually work this time, according to traditional automotive logic, not GT5's backwards settings (suspension dampers etc. were backwards in GT5.)

With that said, the new physics engine is too awesome to return. It's similar, but a major improvement on the immersion.

The physics are way better and realistic in GT6, no way am i going back to GT5 even though i like alot of things better in GT5. Gameplay is where its at in GT6.

I can't see going back, GT6 is more fun and it is new and it will likely get even better. I was bored with 5 2 years ago

I won't be going back to GT5 for online races, but there are still single-player modes that it has and GT6 doesn't that I want to complete.

I'm genuinely perplexed by the positive reception to GT6 that's going on here. I think it's substantially less finished than GT5 (and I was quite unimpressed with that initially!), the multi-player of GT5 kept me playing. GT6 online feels like a ghost town!

In GT6 the menus are unfinished, the amount to do in single player is abysmal, whenever I want to do a license or a seasonal my screen is full of squiggly lines and my friends gamer tags annoying me constantly (please someone tell me there's a way to turn this off), there's no proper rev-counter or tachometer in third person, adding a turbo charger produces not one iota of lag, fitting a downpipe magically makes your engine rev more, increasing valve overlap and compression ratio doesn't bring your powerband any higher, you can fit a turbocharger WITH aforementioned modifications (wtf?), most standard cars look exactly the same, new premium cars are completely irreverent like the Range Rover Evoke, there's still no first generation RX-7, and overall ... blurgh.

I can't be the only one that thinks this surely. Look at the sales figures for this game alone.

The vettel challenge trophies scurred folks away lol.

Only to finish the last two 24 hour enduros and maybe run some cars I haven't purchased/unlocked on GT6 yet. I was planning on completing B-spec in GT5, but I'll most likely pass on that. Otherwise, I'm sold on GT6.

Have to disagree. GT6 feels even more complete to me than the current version of GT5. GT5 had to undergo many massive updates to make it the way it is today. I've had GT5 since release, and over the course of those updates, it felt like PD was trying to patch up a leaking water system instead of replacing the pipes with new ones. At least GT6 has a lot of GT5's improvements out of the box while also fixing some gripes I had with GT5.

In GT6 the menus are unfinished,

I don't see how they are unfinished. To me, the menus are more organized. For instance, in the "My Home" screen, everything is in neat columns unlike GT5, where everything is separated in a clutter of different sized boxes.

the amount to do in single player is abysmal,

I disagree. There is more variety in terms of events than in GT5 as far as offline career goes.

whenever I want to do a license or a seasonal my screen is full of squiggly lines and my friends gamer tags annoying me constantly (please someone tell me there's a way to turn this off),

Press up on the directional pad.

most standard cars look exactly the same

I will agree that all standards should have gotten the same graphical upgrade.

new premium cars are completely irreverent like the Range Rover Evoke,

Again, GT5 is no better. The Mitsubishi i-Miev says hi. At least the Range Rover is the first premium SUV.

there's still no first generation RX-7,

That sounds like nit-picking. There are a lot of other good cars that still haven't made it like the BMW M3 E30, but PD still added quite a number of popular cars people wanted like the Ferrari FXX, Lamborghini Diablo, and Cadillac CTS-V.

I can't be the only one that thinks this surely. Look at the sales figures for this game alone.

To be fair, GT6's sales are also affected by the aftermath of GT5, which many found to be a disappointment.

No. GT6 has everything I had in GT5 and more. (well ok, some things still missing, but future updates)

Though I might go back to get the platinum which is 3 trophies away. 300 more cars, A-spec to 40 (1½lvls) and B-spec bob career to max.

No. If they would fix the economy GT6 would be near perfect. GT5 is played out at this point and I had to uninstall it anyway.
