anyone got gold on amg academy intermediate on all 5 of them?

i got them all except the last one.. it just seems so crazy with all these stupid cars on the track i get 0.46.500/600 on the 1st straight over that small bridge..

post ur time / vids..
 
I gave up, gold just seems always a second away....
I'll keep playing and practicing, I'll try again next week. For me the trick is to relax, the more I try the worst time I get.
I really like to overtake those cars, I've done some overtakes that I thought I would crash.
I wonder if we use the horn or the lights, will the other cars let us pass easier?
 
I got all golds in this event, also in the advanced one. The key here is to know pretty well the track, and overtake the other cars on the left, as the instruction states : in real life slower cars on Nurburgring would stay on the right side of the track, so when you are arriving at a car, just try to stay on the left side and overtake them. I don't know if using horn or lights can help, someone in another topic said that it works. I've done the last event gold at the first try, I think that it's easier for experienced players that knows almost every turn of the Ring.
 
I got bronzes on beginner first go, on intermediate I got all silver first go.

I plan on going back to try and get gold on these at another time (if I manage to do it that is)
 
I just finally got gold on the last one last night by 1 second with a time of 7:04.xxx That was a white knuckle sweaty palm ride!!

I must have only done about 5-7 complete attempts but probably 60-80 aborted attempts.

Dont worry so much about your time splits just focus on where you pass the cars. I drove with a Fanatec wheel and with automatic and traction control (set on 2) on btw. Driving line also on so i can be precise on my braking points.

the thing with the driving line is there are places where you have to absolutely follow it and others where you just ignore it. In the first sector before the first split you need to do a lift and ride a curb instead of tapping the brakes and the hard stop for the hairpin you need to get on the brakes halfway down the "braking line" instead of at the beginning. You basically need to try to take each corner without slowing as much as possible and always think about your exit speed. As soon as you can point your car at the apex FLOOR IT!!!

There is a video out there of a 7:00 minute time! Watch where all the cars get passed and try to pass them in a similar spot, if you can do that you are on pace to get a GOLD time.

I dont remember all my splits because i was really only concentrating on where i pass the cars, but i do remember my first two..

0:46.500
1:20.500

If you can get less than 47 and 1:21 on your first two splits then you are doing GREAT! Keep going!

For me the challenge is really in the first 1/3 of the lap, you have to MURDER it because this will allow you to catch all the other cars in a spot where you can EASILY pass them before a turn or before you get on the brakes. If you cant do that, then your lap will be compromised by several seconds trying to pass the other cars through turns and taking bad lines passing on the outside. Basically ATTACK on the first 2 minutes of the track, if you can pass the SLK coming into or in the slowest section of the track (hairpin) its all easy from there.

Good luck to all who try this. BTW this seemed much easier than Mission 34 in GT4 and it also didnt take me a month :D

Not when i tried it, i flashed my lights and sounded horn, if anything it seemed to wind them up and block me..

As for the gold on the last full lap in the wet i got gold first try, i thought it was very easy i beat the gold time by about 7 seconds i think.
All the others i only got silver first try.

The final lap seems to allow more time so you can pass the cars cleanly. I got gold first try and don't remember any problem. If you know the track which seems like you do it should be straight forward.

How many seconds are you off the target?

My fastest is 7:05.471, after four pints and a glass of wine. Whether that helped or hindered me I'm not sure, but I'm pretty confident I'll crack it next time out.

If I post a quicker time without getting gold I will break something.
 
Got silvers in all and thought brilliant, I can role into the final challenge with a guarenteed Silver. To my surprise, the AI cars made for a handy draft on some straights, so I ended up with a gold, 4 seconds better than the posted time.

after bumping 1,2 cars geting blocked at the tight left corner and messed up the last 2 turns before the straight i had 7.6.044

but im taking a rest for it now just 15-20 mins, or else i get more frustrated witht his slow cars ont he track ill try to flash em hope it works.
 
I could only manage silver for the first 3 levels.. but the at the expert difficulty I got all golds.. :lol:
 
What level does one have to be in order to attempt AMG Academy Intermediate? I know it tells you in the game, but I don't have my PS3 near me right now (so I cannot check myself.) I have not had much time to play GT5 since I got it. (I don't want my PS3 to get stolen at college, so I didn't bring it with me.) All I want is the Nordschliefe without time and weather at the moment and I'll be happy.

Somehow golding this one is giving me the most trouble. I nearly trashed my controller:scared:

I'm doing great most of the times, but eventually I always mess up somewhere at the end.
 
I got bummed after I got silver 4 times in a row in the beginner challenge, 2nd one. I got gold from my second try in the first though :(

Haven't touched the AMG challenges since.
