My brother is thinking about getting a Pontiac GTO (2005) and we would be doing a conversion to convert it back to the Aussie spec Monaro or more preferably HSV GTO. But we are stumped--we can't find any Monaro OEM parts distributors for the USA...and eBay is absolutely no help. Anyone out there know where we can get the exterior and interior OEM parts? Thanks in advance.

I thought the same thing (though a pipe dream). It would be sweet to at least have the front clip from a monaro let alone the rest of the package.

I have no idea where to get the stuff though. You might have to find a Aussie connection on your own.

I doubt there is any Holden distributors in the US, you'll have to buy the parts in Australia and ship them over.

Maybe contact a Holden dealer in Australia and try to arrange with them.

I actually emailed Holden a couple of months ago about importing cars or parts to the US and they emailed me back with an infactic "no".

Did you email a dealer or Holden themselves, I imagine Holden will just say no but if you can talk to a dealer they may be different or maybe not? The guy in this thread here has the same idea and he said he has a connection with Suttons Holden in Sydney. Looking at his sig it seems he has monaro parts now so maybe you should email him.

Otherwise you'll have to find someone (not Holden related) that would buy the parts for you then ship them over, but that might be a pain in the ass.

I'm sure you could get everything off of eBay and pay thousands of dollars less. But if you don't want to go that route I would suggest checking www.newagegto.com

I emailed Holden themselves. I might call a dealer or find a way to email one with my question. eBay is absolutely no help...which is kind of shocking. I've even went to www.ebay.com.au and I still didn't find what we needed. = /

And I just checked used prices on 2004 GTO's and I think I'll suggest he get one since they are fairly inexpensive.

Holden, the manufacturer do not sell or export to single customer. Individual sale of cars, parts or service of vehicles are handled by the dealers. Like VIPERGTSR suggested, easiest way would be to contact the Holden dealer and purchase parts with Credit Card. Shipping could be spendy, depending on the size/weight of the parts. Good luck! :)

If your looking to do the HSV GTO version then you'll need to contact a Holden/HSV dealer for that, but I dont think you can just buy the HSV parts as I have tried before and they require a HSV VIN number to sell you any.

Wow, that's crazy. I've never heard that before. :scared:

Wow, you have GOT to be kidding me? Talk about some secretive ****. So if that's the case we can only do a regular Holden Monaro conversion...but the HSV's definately are more sexy. 👍

Well you may be lucky to talk to a HSV dealer that is willing to send parts oversea's. They require VIN numbers I think because they dont want fake HSV's driving around. I went to a HSV dealer with a Holden Commodore SS and they would'nt sell me any HSV parts.

I would look at it this way, shipping parts overseas to the US and the EU would increase thier sales--just imagine all of the people in the US and EU that wants to convert thier Vauxhall Monaro/Pontiac GTO and convert it to an HSV GTO. Imagine the free advertising it would be and the additional orders they could do to these regions. Just a thought...

I hope we can find a dealer willing to send us at least Holden Monaro standard parts.

In the U.S., we have people who does that with Saleen parts. When you said HSV wants your VIN, fake Saleens were the first thing to pop into my mind.

Unless there's a overwhelming merit for them, neither company or dealer are going to want to mess around with setting up international exporting. Dealers make their money already, so dealing with international shipping to make small profit off of car parts aren't that attractive to them. It's really up to the parts counterman or the manager. Possibly, one person you talk to at paticular dealer might say no, while another says OK.

Even if you don't have any luck at first, you should be able to find someone if you keep at it. :)

come to think of it... we have a load of aussies on gtp... if one of them could buy the part and you pay them for the part and shipping, it is possible that could work... i do that with a friend in germany... you have any idea how expensive gearboxes are?

Be original and convert it to a Vauxhall Monaro. The Dollar/Pound exchange rate is so favourable for you at the moment it will cost you next to nothing. Shipping from the UK will be cheaper than from Australia too i would imagine.
