Just because something is inexpensive doesn't mean it's bad. The only reason the $10 are more expensive is because of the name of the restaurant. The sushi looks the same, prepared in the same way, and tastes the same. I refuse to pay that kind of money for atmosphere and a name. The place I frequent is a little mom and pop restaurant, but it's still some of the best sushi I've had in the area. Granted the places out west in California you do get what you pay for. Remember I'm in Michigan, we aren't that cultured.
I understand what your saying I have eaten at several places here in ARKANSAS (god help me) but I must say that the guy who prepares sushi at our Osaka's is amazing. The Rolls are not only great tasting but decorated very well. It's rare that you find two that look similiar. We must remember that Sushi is supposed to be the art of food as the little brochure says on their table there...
If its presented well it feels everybit worth of ten dollars...
