Felt it here . Whilst sat watching Underworld.

Soon got back to Kate Beckinsale though.

lol I slept like the dead after the comedown from the excitement high last night.

LOL

Hey whats so special about Manchester that they get 2 topics? :grumpy:

Amazingly, none of my stuff moved during the earthquake, some earthquake huh?

Don't want to blow my own trumpet or anything, but my bed rocks every night.

Sleep through it, apparently.

Yeah, try telling that to the 19 who got a broken pelvis from stuff falling on his bed lol.

Personally I'd go with crying like a baby and saying "Oh god oh god we're all gonna die"...drama and suchness.

He woke up. He failed to sleep through it - and as a result got hurt.

Besides, he's from Barnsley. Like anyone there even counts as a person.

their is a topic about this on every single forum i vist..

Jeez...

What was Diego doing in England last night?

I was watching an episode of Band of Brothers and it felt like someone shoved the sofa a couple of times in quick succession.

It did throw me a little, I even got up and looked behind the sofa and then had to ask myself exactly what I was looking for!!!

Scaff

Glad it wasn't any worse and all, but British earthquakes are so lame... as this image from the BBC news website reveals the carnage of 27/2...

I'm glad I'm Australian- no big earthquakes at all really. (Maybe one somewhere in Oz every once in a century). We are normally pretty safe from all natural disaster. Apparently the Gold Coast is perfectly set up for a Tsunami though :scared:

Your time shall come holden!

Not unless the tectonic plates completely change position in my life time it won't. We're pretty much sitting on a solid rock and no dangerous to us splits in the Earth's crust until you reach NZ. Hence there are no Volcanos in Australia, no Tsunamis yet, and only one big earthquake I think that happened like 50 years ago anyway.

There are no splits in the Earth's crust within 1,000 miles of the UK either - which is why it's a fairly big thing for us Brits.

Wasn't an earthquake. Subterranean nuclear explosion.

England was supposed to disappear. My plan has failed, back to the drawing board.

The Corvette had some extra dust on it, just checked. For some reason, there's a TV crew van monitoring my next door neighbours in my access road. Saturday night on ITV, they said.

Anyhow, I woke up, my unconscious mind had registered what was going on because I sat bolt upright. Then the noises stopped about a second later, leaving me sat up wondering why I was awake. Then I lay down and fell asleep.

I now know what my sleep/awake threshold is: 5.3 on the Richter scale at ~120 mile range. No wonder my alarm clock has a tough time of it.

The people nextdoor felt it 'shaking the house to bits', I however failed to wake up and if I did wake up temporarily I cannot remember it. It would probably take a >6 to wake me to a concious state, or falling objects braking my pelvis of course...

Apparently the extent of the damage is meant to be worse where I live because the ground is just sand, (so much so that there is a sandquarry 500metres down the road and about 6 within 2 miles). Despite this not even slight damage was recorded locally. Earthquakes are big news in England despite being minor, though the damage caused is ussually the odd isolated incident.

I woke up in the middle of the night with cramps on my right leg, no earthquake though.

It still hurts.

I live right below you guys and didn't feel a thing... :sly:

Well we got it here in Wakefield, I was letting the dogs out before heading to bed and hay presto shake and bake. Just like a couple of years ago I was in Leicester for that one.

I was awake and didnt notice anything, people at my uni felt it loads though!!.. they were all saying its the coverfield monster

This is nothing compared to the Dudley earthquake in 2002 which was mega...like 5.0, scared the life out of me and the house was properly shaking.

I feel sorry for that student who had the chimney crush him, stupid cheapskate landlord I hope the guys sues him rotten for poor house maintenance.

I live in Dartford Kent, which is nowhere near were the earthquake happened. Everyone in my house, stayed fast asleep. However, my Nan and Grandad live close to us. Not down the same road, or even a couple of blocks away. But it only takes three minutes to drive from their house to ours. The sound woke both of them up. My Nan went back to sleep, but my Grandad thought there was someone down stairs, but then he realised in the morning what had happened!
