Pro Race Driver???

It's out here now finally (in NC).

Should I get it or not?

Give me some feedback everyone.

Thanks for any and all insight!

Jay

:D

I've had it for a month and i love it. the best part is that it is tied to a storyline and has actual characters. That makes the game more fun. The thing i don't like is not having a lot of time to play it :D There's TOCA, DTM, a nascar-like race series, the V8 supercars, LOLA and other series'. If you liked previous TOCA games or just like racing games you will love it. 👍

I'll go get it tonight...thanks for the reply.

Oh...and I hate to sound like a moron...:embarrassed: but what the heck does "TOCA" stand for? I've read a lot of the threads about it and think it's a race format right? Is it a game format like GT3 or real life race format like WRC?

This game is based on real-life racing not made up stuff like GT3. Someone will correct me cause I'm not sure but its basically Touring Cars. I watch V8 Supercars and TOCA on speedvision all the time. I bought basically the day it came out before I read any reviews or tested it and I've never regret it. This is definatly a game for fans of the older toca.

Alot of people who go from GT3 to Pro Race Driver complain that it's too hard. Well it is, you actually have to learn the courses. There is no little flashing red light to guide you when to brake and tell you a turn is coming up. You have to pay attention to your surroundings cause these tracks are taken straight from the real thing. First time on a track? Then use what the real drivers would use to know when to brake and when a turn is coming up.

No, your right. That is the tough part, learning tracks. What I do is go to free race(i think thats the option's name) and do all the tracks in the race series im about to start.

I believe Toca is a type of drum, sorta like a bongo or conga drum
(don't hold me to that).

But what your wanting is Touring Car Association.
As in British Touring Car Association, which organized the BTCC.

I wasn't that impressed with PRD, I think because I waited sooo long for it to come out that when it did hit I just wasn't excited to play it. I got it and returned it a couple of days later.
The story bit was different, I just didn't like the fact that "Ryan McKane" is a punk.
I'm not like that in real life. I wished they would have made it where you had
multiple responses and you could pick the one that best fit your character.

oh well, it's a good game though. I would suggest buying somewhere like
EB World or Software Etc/Gamestop so you can return it if you don't like it.
