GT1 PAL had the best soundtrack and I come back to the game regularly as it feels arcadey as well as serious (like GT3). The lack of content cimpared to say GT4 - the 'best in the series' to many - doesn't matter as what's included is amazing ^_^

After playing GT3 or GT4 for a while we drug out the original Gran Turismo and we were shocked by not only how bad the graphics were but how bad the cars sounded too. We loved every minute we spent on Gran Turismo though, as far as I am concerned it's still the best console racing game by far.

Definitely the most influential on the genre, heh ^-^ but yea, the game has a lot of charm even if it lacks in certain areas.
