Ok all you die-hard fans, who here uses racing shoes (or designated GT3 driving shoes) just for GT3?

I assume this would only apply to the people who have a wheel of some description. It would be funny if you used a DS2 and you still went out and purchased some New Balance shoes that looked like racing shoes. 👍 You may as well grab a helmet and racing suit while your at it.

Using socks with the DFP wheel works best for me but i think ill by some racing shoes (not real ones). My runners have too much grip and it feels funny on the pedals.

Imagen you kept a fire extinguisher (however you spell that) next to you... hahah that would be die-hard fan to the max! Or...perhaps...just a little lonely or slightly insane.

I actually race, and I DO use New Balance running shoes that I use to wear for track and field. They are light weight and thin soled, quite narrow and let me toe and heel with ease.

I don't even have a wheel for my PS2... but I did, probably be whatever I had on... or barefoot/socks...

I ment race in Gran Turismo ...not track and field.
I think Takumi uses NB shoes from Initial D if i remember... Any reason why racing shoes are thin-toed? Is it so you can feel the pedals better?

Yeah, I've driven with a variety of different shoes and boots, from my New Balance to my steel toed work boots. The thinner sole not only gives better feel, but better control in that you can adjust the gas or brake by slight amounts by simply moving your toes.

I understood your question, but I had to defend New Balance, cause yeah, I know fanboys think this and that, and while I do like Initial D, the fact is, New Balance running shoes (not the street shoes Takumi has) work very well. The only things that might be better would be wrestling shoes (I know an excellent driver, takes 1st place in class always, who races wearing wrestling shoes) or actual racing shoes/boots.

Dude you've made three new threads in about one hour, and you've double posted at the top of two of them. Please stop. And no I don't use racing shoes I use DS2.

i didnt know it was a crime. Im not spamming with rubbish, i am covering legitimate topics, if you dont have anythihng to contribute then don't bother.

I can't use my Driving force wheel with shoes on at all, there isn't enough resistance in the pedals. Although in my car my thin soled work shoes are way nicer to use than my normal trainers which have thick soles. You just get more feel of the pedals and it's allot easier to vary the resistance on the pedals.

I did contribute. I'm not saying your spamming. I didn't say it was a crime. Frequent double posting is looked down upon. Thread starting binges, like the one you went on, usually end up awry.

....are you kidding?...i don't just use racing shoes, i wear a firesuit/racing suit and helmet, gloves,..... the whole racing outfit.... and... i tell the wife to be ready with the checker flag...for when i cross the finish line!!... then ...she gives me the trophy... :dopey: i even keep a fire extinguisher.. close by, just in case.....i self combust! :sly:

wtf....do you play outside, or does your house not have heat?

I don't have a gt3 steering wheel because i kicked the wheel off, with my racing shoes of course, and replaced the one in my car with it. :odd: :dunce: :irked:

speaking of initial D, takumi's shoes, i always thought they were like nike sneakers or something.. i didn't know they were NBs... what are they called, cuz i can only picture those running NB shoes.. i don't think i've seen street NBs.

Biased turkey
Being in Canada, I play GT3 with my snowshoes on.
I'm in Toronto, i can't believe there's that much difference from here to there, but then again, the things i've heard about Montreal 🤬 Bon appetit :sly: BTW, have you filed a complaint yet, to the game makers, for not having the "studded snow tires" in the options? :sly: i did! 👍

I play GT3 with my hands, so no. Racing shoe are very comfy, BTW. There are a pair of Addidas Monaco race shoes on sale for $60.00. I forget where.

I use sometimes racing shoes and a helmet i normally use for real slalom races at LFS, with the 900* mode. Also used them a couple of times for GT4 BMW and GT4P :) It's really fun!

But not fun for the other people around (aka family) who think .... well....go figure
