AOL auto startup?

While im not online aol tries to startup and asks me to enter a password out of nowhere. why would it do this? i have windows xp and i was running movie shaker at the time. i do also have the auto startup set to no auto startup

please help

Start -> Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Connections tab -> Change 'Always Dial My Default Connection' to 'Never Dial A Connection'

Start > Run> Type: msconfig > Go to Startup tab > Uncheck anything that says aol on it

Check to see whether aol is set to start automatically with windows by checking to see if there is an AOL shortcut in your startup folder in your Start Menu. I remember this happening to me also but can't remember how it was enabled exactly.

Goto your AIM Preferences and un-check start AIM when Windows starts.

For some odd reason, whenever I start-up Outlook Express, my AIM start's loggin me in.
