You realize those are the old iPods, right? Apple came out with the 4th generation iPods last week.

You hate baseball? And you like Apple? You're a ****ing communist, Sage. Baseball is the greatest sport this side of Football.

I find the Mini iPod to be a terrible purchase. For just a few bucks more you can get the 15 gigger (or 20 gigger now). I believe the new 20 GB iPod is only 300 bucks, right?

If I didn't already have a terrible 20 GB ARCHOS multimedia, and I had 300 dollars to waste, I'd buy one. 👍

Pah! I like real sports – Bicycle races, triathlons, auto racing, track/field. "Ball" sports my foot (oh, what a terrible pun!).

Actually, the interesting part isn't the specs, but how "usable" the Mini is. I haven't had much personal experience with either iPods or iPod Minis (though I've seen both up close), but I've heard from a lot of people that the difference is in portability comfort – sticking a regular iPod is like sticking a heavy wallet in your front pockets (which never works well), while on the other hand, you can barely feel the Mini in your pocket. The two iPods look very similar in size in photos, but having seen both in real life, there is a large difference – the Mini literally looks like a really thick credit card, while the iPod actually looks like a device.

Anyway, I'd still rather get an iPod, because I'd use it for backup storage. In fact, it looks like my logic board might be in trouble, so I was considering buying one...

meh, who gives a fark? It's an iPod which, is currently the worst mp3 player on the market 👍. Most, if not all mp3 players are apple compatible. In addition to that, most of them have more built in features than the iPod and cost a hell of a lot less. Not to mention that most of them are the same size as the iPod or come at a significantly lower price and offer double the battery life.

Now that sucks, hopefully it's covered by Apple's Logic Board Repair Program.

This is the 4th generation of Ipods and they don't make the 15gig version anymore. Too bad because that was the version which I wanted to buy (the price difference was large enough to make the 15gig version very attractive).

Your choice now is between a 4GB (= mini), 20GB or 40GB hard disk drive.

The regular Ipod is not much larger, has a larger display and has better battery life.

If I'm not mistaken, the new 20GB costs the same as the old 15GB.

Not to mention paying another $100 to get the batt replaced a year later

I haven't done a lot of looking around at prices in different shops but I hope that this will be the case. You can never know, they might be selling off a lot of old stock first without adjusting the prices.

I saw that and yes the idea sounds cool but some how at least right now the video part sounds too new to be that good. I'd wait... Also batt life probably not that great. Pricey too

nah, they're actually quite good. iRiver and Creative labs have both come out with divx players like the rca lyra. They're pretty expensive though :(.
