how many can drift the entire first turn on apricot raceway I (after the start/finish line). i tried it when i first started drifting and couldnt come close and just forgot about it. i tried it today with my new drift car, 400r, and got it perfectly after a couple tries. i had to go full speed into it and somehow keap my speed up cause a lot of times when i tried it i ran out of slidage halfway through the turn and just came ot a stop. its probably the most difficult long drift corners in the game. i might put up a video sometime.

I've done it twice, both in the last week, mainly cus i pulled out 2 recent drift cars of mine, An Evo4, which since i drifted that corner the first time i was testing it decided to keep it, and a WrX IV (GC8) which i won somewhere and decided to build to battle my Evo4. I think its pretty easy with a 4wd, but that jus my opinion

If you want to see that corner being taken at a 90 degree angle... click on the first two links of my sig.. I did it with a R34 and 3000GT.. maybe from that you can pick up some pointers or the correct line :)

Damn you with your skill in AWDs, I can barely take one around a corner sideways, hahaha. Good job on your vids man.

apricot hill is heaven...drift heaven, the track is sooo wide and theres soo much room to slip around, the colored part on this map shows what i can drift;)

Hahahhaaha!! You know what i should do?? Delete the links in my sig - so that it can become collectors items:lol:

You can't really drift the "S" or curvy type turns? somehow i manage to do it...but that's just me, lol...for sum reason, i don't know or don't like handling Rwd's with drifting, i mean i can, but like...it tires me out...lol

Last RWD drift car: Supra SzR, all motor baby

i watched the first one. i had to mute it cause i cant stand that song. nice drifts though. i took it at 90 degrees through whole turn too except that last part. i have a good line down its just hard to keap from slowing down cause im sliding for so long and i like to run higher hp with stickier tires instead of lower hp and slick tires.

Thanx... you dont like Evernescence??

Anyway, that corner can be taken with low HP and sims.. like I said before.. it's been done plenty of times - check out the vids in this forum... and you dont have to rely on high hp to get you through the corner - ever heard of momentum?? Ive done it with a RX7 Infini (think it was with 197 HP - must check again)

try it with medium racing tires on the rx-7, bet its impossible. im sure i could do it with lower hp and slicker tires. i just like it set up with more hp and stickier tires.

im buying a second gen rx-7 this summer (in real life).

Apricot Hill is awesome.

As for 4WD cars.. I don't see what is so difficult about them. I mean, you are more likely to make an insanely awesome drift out of an error than you are to spin out, cuz it kind of locks at 90 degrees.

I have honed this feature to the max and turned it into a skill.

Wait until my Way of the Ninja vid is done.
It's like a one minute tribute to Bruce Lee's corney movies as well as the R34 Vspec use in the exact opposite way that it was intended to be used

However, I had a brain fart and deleted my DRIFT GAME instead of my GRIP GAME because I forgot I switched the memory cards around, so production has been postponed until I CAN EARN ANOTHER 60,000 CREDIPo-9asopgkjn253=/as/ DAMN IT

i juss recently made my 1st vid of my rx7 rs and my r34 skyline doin the turn but i dont how and where to upload the vid. Can Anyone help me on how, where or who i should upload it to?

AH is definately one of the BEST tracks to practice on. The #1 to #2 corner link is nuts at first....then once you get the hang of it it becomes second nature no matter what you drive.

Linking corners 3 - 8 is a challenge to do well stock-on-SIMs IMHO. It really teaches you fine car control in the early stages of learning to drift.

It's one of my least favorite grip-race courses.....On the other hand, I've found it useful when I want to perfect long corner drifts.

Impossible? Nothing is impossible.. practice makes perfect :)

But why would you want to drift with medium tyres anyway??

I almost bought a 2nd gen RX7 a month ago.. but where i'm from, it's not practical to own one :(

Hey now! Do i detect a pessimistic vibe here?? Practice and dedication - all you need :D

Btw - I also like that quote in your sig.. heard it the first time in the movie Equilibrium.. another quote I like is the one from Gladiator: "What we do in life, echoes through eternity".

Here is my video doing the apricot turn on three different laps. Not my greatest way of doing it, but successfull on all three laps still. Apricot Hill IS the DRIFT HEAVEN course. Its non stop drifting, link after link.

Apricot Hill Wheel Video

Its actually really easy even in RWD cars, just cruise along at 200kmh up towards the corner, then under braking, cut from the outside lane in towards the inside rumble strip. This will send your back end out. Then it will just slide at around 45-90 degrees sideways towards the outside of the 2nd apex. Then just cut off the gas and try to regain some grip . Then just countersteer and throttle to exit the corner but making sure you dont go off the outside of the track on the 2nd apex.

There ya go. Thats how i do it.

im happy to say ive got it down now and linked together the first 4 corners perfectly. looks real good in replay. i cant get that long 5th corner. i need different settings to get it because i have way too much grip on that banked corner.

ill put a video up sometime

I can do all lap non-stop drifting.

.
You can link the big hairpin with the small haipin, doing a looong chuku-dori.

I have spent the last 2 or 3 months drifting on this track almost every day...its great.

The first two turns i can drift fairly well, but not consistantly and thats what im aiming for at the moment.

the 1st turn where u start off from in a free run is my fav so far, im pretty consistant @ it, also the big turn @ the start of midfield 2 in free run is a fun one too, right now im tryin to b able to link drift turns 1 and 2 on apricot, i almost got it with my jag xj220 the other day
