Hello guys !

I play and practice a lot in Arcade mode.I never really used this mode in any GT game until Gran Turismo 4 , which was a huge library of Cars ,very well organized and I searched as hell to unlock every single one of them ( a few cars only were GTmode only ) .

I really enjoy GT5 arcade mode ,but with the new selection screen , everything is harder. 100 Favorite cars only, The arcade only cars are always the same no matter what you buy in GTmode , and even the imports from my PSP are not organised by Manufacturer.

Is it really me ? Doesnt anyone else miss GT4 Arcade Mode ??

Can't see why you can't use all the cars in the game. It doesn't contribute towards your GTlife so what's the problem?

As it is i don't think they really gave much importance to Arcade when developing the game with the new online generation and all.

Shame tough.

I agree with both of you....I dont think that it would hurt to free run every car in game in Arcade mode. Also the GT4 menu was very handy and easy , cars by History or Car manufacturer.

2 ways I would have this:

1. Every car unlocked, this would help you before you purchase a car as there is no actual demo or test run of the car.

2. Once you buy it in GTLife then you can use it in Arcade, whether you sell it or not in GTLife.

I liked GT4's system where buying the car in GT mode would unlock it in arcade mode. Also I liked how player 2 could use their own garage. Not sure how you'd handle that on a PS3 but I'd like that back too.

2nd way is the GT4 system.Chose the cars you have bought in GTmode,Use them in an Arcade way like they are new and chose the color you want.

I have also imported all my cars from my psp and it should be nice if they could be imported to this list too. All of them.

To replicate an Arcade garage , I ve duplicates with 0.0 mileage and add to favorites everytime

I forgot the dang name of the regular mode. My PS3 is turned off and I'm going to bed now.

Goodnight

GTLife 👍 and no, no damage, miles or switches show up on the car.

As I ve said before , even racing in Arcade mode with yout favorite cars , can add mileage....
the trick is that you can race any car but never go to the settings screen (magically the mileage is added then) , you can quit and race with another car again ,but never go to the settings screen...Also when you finish dont go to GTlife the mileage will be added again.

These are some tips if you want your cars to be "clean" for arcade mode

If you really wanted to simulate an Arcade garage, you would run the cars to about 190 miles, then restore the chassis. No oil change or engine rebuild. If you don't do this, the cars will be either down on power because they haven't been broken in, or have too much power because of the better oil.

Well you are right ,I thought about that , but I want them to be balanced with the PSP imported cars ,which they have more HP than a 0.0 miles car without oil change and less than the broken in ones....

To some cars broken in is unrealistic ,usually the large displacement ones !

One big thing I miss is the visitors garage. In gt4 you could have your friends memory stick in and he/she could use there cars in your game. That I miss as my son wants to race me with his cars.

I want GT2 style, certain Arcade cars for good measure and FULL access to your garage, not this 100 favorites crap, 2K cars in the game you think i only drive 100 of them?

Well, to be honest, in GT2 you could only have 100 cars in your garage and there were glitches that could wipe out the garage (something about a spillover block) if you got too close to that. Using two memory cards, however, could get you about 150-200 slots.

the glitch was only in v 1.0 and 1.1 and had to do with the machine test, if you avoid it you don't need to worry.

Arcade mode in GT5 seems like it was thrown together at the last minute to me.
They didn't break the cars down into separate classes like in the previous games, they just threw in a bunch of cars and you have to scroll forever to get to the end. You also cant earn new tracks and cars by winning races on the hard difficulty.

I could have sworn I heard about a different glitch that happened when you got too close to the limit. Something about going into the memory card navigator and finding a GT2 save that took up five blocks instead of the usual four.

By the way, I never knew what version I had. I heard you could tell by the livery of the [R]Ford Taurus SHO: a Mark Martin/Valvoline NASCAR livery (one of the best racing liveries ever) indicates an older version while a generic Ford Racing livery indicates a newer one. Problem is, my [R]Taurus has both. It seems to switch between them every time I play.

1. start off with the ability to create custom folders/tabs for your garage to tidy it up.
2. I have made the poll - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=239925&page=6
3. Arcade Mode Car Selection should access your whole garage, with the custom folders/tabs ability it will make life easier.

I already voted , but really thats a different thing....

Arcade Mode should be something seperated like all GT games before .
It need more attention

Couldnt agree more....

Sounds almost like the PAL version to me

It did that?

I'm sure mine is NTSC, otherwise it probably wouldn't work on my PS2...

EDIT: It's labelled "greatest hits" if that makes any difference...

Definetely not a PAL version..... :)

Oh, you shouldn't have the glitch unless you used a faulty gameshark code or something.

I do think that GT4 had the best arcade mode design, starting with a large number of cars in it was very nice and the setup was somewhat logical.

Well thats the point of this thread.

PD listens to us , they want our feedback.

Maybe its time to correct the Arcade Mode issue too , theyve done great job so far...

I loved the car Library in GT4, it was very good!

GT5 should replicate GT4's arcade selection - where cars owned in GT Mode gets unlocked for use in Arcade Mode.

It's a hassle to have to "favourite" cars in order to use them in Arcade Mode, and moreover, there is a limit to that.

The cars in arcade mode are in order from least to most PP.I would rather it be like GTLife folder system.I dont remember GT4 arcade mode. But I do like the idea of unlocking stuff.... I think its been like that since gt2 dont know why they chose this route.
