Hey Guys n Gals

Ive been wondering on the use of the Arcade mode. Its a part of the GT series that ive never used at all, and it made me wonder. Is there really a need for it?, or does it have its place in GT?. :indiff:

When i want to go test and tune up a car, i just use the practice section to do that. Ive just never saw the need to use the Arcade mode within GT5, or any of the previous versions come to think of it.

Anyone else not use it?, or is it just me?. Just curious is all. :)

Arcade mode could be used for testing cars, but I use it for fun. It's what it was made for. Take a break from the GT story mode and just pick any car and track you want, time trial, drift, single race, whatever. It's just for enjoying the game.

On GT3 and 4 it was all I played, I was little and was overwhelmed by how hard GT mode seemed. I just wanted to race fast cars endlessly.

You took the words outta my mouth. I also use it for a bit of competition between the AI :dopey:

I guess i will check it out at some point.

Does it keep track (parden the pun) of lap times and what nots?. Can you tune the cars?, or is it just get in and drive?.

Like ive said ive never ventured into Arcade mode, as everything i want to do, can be done in GT mode.

That, and i guess it will be quicker to go from testing to track to race, rather than close down Arcade mode, and get into GT mode to race. I assume it works like that anyway.

Its funny but i sound like a noob, but ive been there since the beginning.

I use it mostly for my cars set to Favourites, so they don't get any wear, or tear. And, just to have a great race. 👍

Yes.
There are no prizes though.

You can tune them; sort of.
The cars you include on your favorites list will be selectable in arcade mode.
So the tuning you've done in A-Spec will remain. Other than that you can change the race options and car settings.

It's good for 16 opponents, no oil degredation and no mileage increase.
I suppose if you want to try a car but keep it at 0 changes, it'd be good for that too.

If you want to Platinum the game, Arcade mode is mandatory in order to complete one trophy. Other than that, its optional but its fun as heck.

Is there a split screen option in practice mode? That's what I've mainly used Arcade mode for, split screen racing. Though I haven't really used it since I got Forza 4.

Since the Spec II upGRADE, I find that racing at Nordschleife, in Arcade, in a stock car with 15 other cars, I've had much more difficulty than doing the same in practice mode. I've gone three-wide down the final straight! That just doesn't happen in A-Spec or practice modes.

AI are much more aggressive in Arcade, in general, although they still brake too hard and too early on a track like Suzuka????

For those like me who don't venture on line much, Arcade now provides better racing against the bots than before Spec II.

Try it if you haven't.
