The main flaw in arcade mode racing is the cars you race against. It is impossible to try and set up a le mans race because if you go low powered le mans lmp1 you get gt cars and if you go high you just get a whole field of toyota 7s.

But its not just le mans, the veyron as well and others like it.

I think we need to be able to have a car chooser that works like this:

power: within 50+- of my car, 100+- of my car, within 200+- of my car etc.

Then as you have choosen the power you then choose the weight

weight: within 100kg+-, within 200+-, within 300+- etc

then as you have set regulations there should be a drop down list with a lists of cars that match the criterior and you can select the ones you want to race but if there is two large a list of cars you can the go to anouther drop down menu and select age groups

age of car: 1960-1970, 1971-1980,1981-1990 etc

do you think we need this and can you see any flaws fell free to talk about it and vot on the poll.

Indeed.

Also, if I would get some credits and XP for winning Arcade races, it would make it a lot more appealing to me to do my grinding there rather than on A-Spec Indy.

Some of the best racing in GT5 is in arcade, but the cars the game picks are odd. Still, some actual racing occurs, and the AI pressures you. It's astonishing. Try 12 laps of Monza in a yellow hat GTR on pro. The game shines in arcade, despite the inability to select car class.

This. It even shines in intermediate IMO.

I've been asking for an event editor for months...I'd also love the ability to choose specific opponents and make out my own grid, AND to have a 'duel' mode to go 1-1 with a certain car...

If PD could make that happen, then I'd actually have a use for the hundreds of cars that I'd normally never drive...

Good point. 1-1 could be great especially if you could pick both cars from your own garage.

Overwhelming majority in favour of this.

A petition or nagging on Yamauchi's Twitter page in order?

Definitely yes. Any car I tune even mildly is up against Veyrons and Speed 12s; Lotus Carlton, Toyota Supra 3.0, Lancer IV, Skylines R32-R34 for example. I only change the oil and give them racing softs with the cheap upgrades; ECU, Air Filter and Catalytic Converter. Hell, the Caterham is only up against GTs and it's just not funny.

Well if you did it for arcade there is no reason why it couldn't be intergrated in to a spec but only prize money and xp where based on how hard you made it, as it would be lame if you could make it massive xp and money and make all the ai cars samba buses.

Why not use the same algorythm as GT PSP. I found it rather motivating. You got credits for how much distance you raced and the field was quite balanced and coherent. That plus some tweaking sliders as mentioned above would make for a perfect method of getting to know all the cars and tracks.

I don't see why anyone wouldn't want a car chooser, y'know thats like them asking you if you want windows in your house...

It would be so cool to have it based on how hard you make it, finally people who challenge themselves would be rewarded properly.

Yes! I want to be able to pick what car(s) I race against in arcade. Simple stuff that most/all PC racing sims include in their products.

I think that more customizin in arcade mode would be awesome but even as it stands I think that the bunch of cars you tend to get tend to be a bit imba like the Lexus LFA pwns everything I race against an gets matched with a Vantage V8!
