Yes, I know, there IS an arcade mode. Was racing it last night after I got sick of being shoved off the track in online races by hogs. The AI in arcade are so polite, they seem to brake as soon as you get along side, to let you past, annoyingly un-agresive, even with the agresiveness turned to 9.
Question - is it possible through some setting to have a one-make race in arcade, or is it always a PP-related mix?

Arcade is always a PP-related mix, but practice mode in GTLife allows you to do one-make races.

That only happens in A-Spec, not in Arcade. At least not with aggressiveness on 10 which is the only way I ever recall racing Arcade. It's one big part of why Arcade is much superior to A-Spec for racing enjoyment. They can still be scared but it's usually sensible unlike the constant parking in A-Spec and Seasonals.

I think the AI in One-Make races drives the same as in Arcade but not 100% sure right now. The One-Make opponents will always be completely stock, including tires, so don't use upgrades and drop a tire grade or two and you can have a nice race.

Unfortunately A-Spec one make drivers will slow to let you pass at the slightest of contact except for car 1 and 2 who will mildly jostle with you. Arcade set to 10 AI aggresiveness is still your best bet for a thrilling race but annoyingly limited by not being able to pick opponents. Especially seeing as nascar and super gt are " featured", we should be able to use any gt500 car from favourites list to race against other gt500 for example. Current set up is a bit limited.

Thanks for the answers guys. The only thing about the A-spec one make races is you are only against 7 other cars, not a full grid as in Arcade.

Arcade is a great way to sharpen your skills, the problem is that you can never be ready for someones movements online.. In Arcade, you get used to the behaviour of the AI.

Very true. Gets you closer than A-Spec does however! I swear they intentionally set up A-Spec to teach people the opposite of proper racing. Then they added AI parking to top it off.
