I have been after the classic alfa for some time now and my friend has just sent it to me as a gift, well I was over the moon , yeah silly I know its only a a game and all that but there you go

Anyways the wife has just gone out and the little people are now tucked up in bed so I though I set my self up a nice long classic race 40 laps on the Circuit de la Sarthe track

so down I sit all ready for my classic race , i pick my classic alfa stick on some rain tyres set it to A (pro) and what do I get lined up with ? tuned S2000`s WRC cars GtR`s and the likes off :scared: so Ok I thought maybe its because I picked pro so I went back and changed it to intermediate , but still the same line up of cars

Why am I not being pitted against the same class of car, these cars left me standing but that's not even the issue I really wanted to do a period race with my non tuned standard classic ( and staying that way), it really put a dampener on my race night Gutted, I'm guessing this is all down to PP points, I really hope this gets looked into as it is spoiling the arcade side of this game , well for me anyway.

So looked forward to getting this car but now I have I cant even race it .

The Arcade Mode is certainly flawed with AI vehicle assignments. Even using a vehicle as is and unmodified still results in improper AI vehicles. What I've noticed is that it often only seems properly matched when using the Arcade Only vehicles already provided.

I did a race with a Lotus Evora and got matched with Lambos pushing 12 cylinders and other high performance V8's. The Evora only has a 6 cylinder.

I like the arcade side of the game choosing your own cars & tracks having some mini endurances races with a bit of day/night and weather in the mix

I can`t see why If that can implement A-B-C levels why they cant also inc classic/WRC/race/tuned/historic etc choices as well ? just a thought but as it stands at the moment the arcade side of the game is mostly ruined for me.

Same here, I have also met the same David/Goliath grid some times now and found that selfmade tracks often requires a couple of tricky corner combinations too keep the big boys away from your fender 👍

Offtopic: 40 laps at Le Sarthe??!

That's exactly what my problem was today. I was using one of my own tracks, and driving a stock Lotus Evora. The AI match up
wasn't right.

It seems to be the same regardless of what vehicle you choose. The AI is slow on the corners (where you gain the advantage).., but smoke your ass on the straights because the AI cars are considerably more powerful.

I only experience it in about half the races. I'm not sure how exactly the match"fixing" works, but seems to be using the PP-system..?
Usually a set of better tires (eg. from sport hard to sport medium) will help a bit, without gaining too much of an advantage and ruining the challenge.
But if you only drive cars stock, then just the thought of "upgrading" the tires can can trigger your collecting-ocd :)

It was like this before the PP was added. I did the exact same thing with my Alfa when I got it (not 40 laps though!) and pretty much the same competition you mentioned. I was able to hold some of them back but got to the straight and they just left me. I was a sad panda.

Just to back up Sep.
It has been like this since the beginning.
Funny enough I too tried the Alfa. I set Daytona oval as this is a good way to test the AI's speed.

I got smoked on all 3 levels of difficulty.

Broken.
