Two days ago I went to the "local" arcade to play my favorite game there, which is Sega Rally. I start looking for it but its no where to be found. In its place is Initial D. Now I haven't seen this anime, but this is a damn good racing game. The graphics aren't up to par with GT3 but, the racing physics are the most realistic I've seen in any arcade.
It has 6 brands of cars (Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Subaru) each with an average of 6 or 7 cars. I'm guessing these are all cars from the anime because they include the driver's name. The thing I like most is that all of the cars have the same horsepower and they are evenly matched in acceleration and braking, so a Skyline can't kill a Civic. It even included a clutch and a rally shifter (pull down once and it up shifts and vice versa). The steering wheel jerked if you didn't shift correctly and when you hit a wall the seat would rumble. It has 3 different modes: One mode is for two player, so you can race the person sitting next to you, the other is "Legend of the Race" which is kind of like a simulation mode but you only have one car, and the last is a time trial which is also one player.
The reason I am posting about it though, is that this is the first arcade game (that I've seen) that comes with these little memory cards. They cost 3 tokens (75 cents) and are about the size of a credit card, but made out of the same material as a playing card (Pokemon, Magic, etc.). Just wanted to know if other people out there have seen these arcade games with a memory card.
