And the Suzuki Cappuccino. And the FIAT Barchetta. And the Toyota Trueno/Corolla.

Oh, and those invalid carriages you find. And golf karts.

Had no idea... that enlarged text count double... there it's done. Famine is a great help ;)

Actually, I hadn't appreciated how much difference 6-8 lines makes. 8 lines was huge. Now it's 6 lines, I barely even see it! Got to approve of anything with NSX in it though :D

It's pretty obvious to tell whether a car is rear-engine or front-engine, and they usually don't make little pee-wee cars rear wheel drive (except Mazda Miatas). This is pretty simple stuff that you can easily find anywhere on the internet.

It's usually obviouse to tel if the cars engine is at the front or rear but the drive can be deceptive unless you can see under the car. Now you have 4wd golfs, rear wheel drive Clio's, alot of the small Japanese cars like the Suzuki Alto and the Daihatsu Sirion have 4wd variants and they look virtually the same as the 2wd versions.

The SRT-4 only comes in 5-Speed, and FF drive train (front engine, front wheel drive). Regular Dodge Neons come in Automatic and Manual and is also FF. My brother is getting one next month (SRT-4!!). :)

Another thing, It's not a Dodge Neon SRT-4, go to the Dodge website, Neon and SRT-4 are in 2 seperate sections and Neon isn't written anywhere on an SRT-4.

It is officially the Dodge SRT-4. There are no Neon badges on the car, it is not refered to as a Neon on the website. Yes, it IS nothing more then a faster Neon, but it's not called a Neon.

My point exactly.

Don't buy an automatic transmission in a small-bore car. Even with the electronic 4-speed ATX, the single biggest performance improvement (not to mention fun factor) you can do to the Neon is get one with a manual transmission.

The time to learn is now, unless you only have one arm or one leg. The Neon's MTX is tough and will handle you learning on it.

That reminds me of how Suzuki used to try to claim the three-car line of the Aerio, Esteem and Grand Vitara was six vehicles ("Aerio sedan, Aerio SX, Esteem sedan, Esteem wagon, Grand Vitara, Vitara, XL-7"). Most people saw past that, fortunately, but nobody seems willing to look at the fact that the SRT-4 is indeed a trim of the Neon, the same way the Impreza STi is a trim of the Impreza; in fact it's hugely similar - the horsepower difference is very, very similar and though lacking the total options of the downscale models, both have spec lists largely built upon those of the base models.

(that was totally necessary)

This is for M5Power...You said "in fact it's hugely similar - the horsepower difference is very, very similar." Whic car do you mean? The Neon and SRT-4 or Impreza and Impreza STI? Because the Neon and SRT-4 have a HUGE difference in speed.

I think here is refering more along the lines that the SRT-4 and Neon have about the same power differnce as the STI and the WRX have. . .

Have a look at rate - the 230bhp SRT-4 represents a 57.9% power increase over the 132bhp base-model Neon; the 300bhp Impreza STi represents a 55% power increase over the 165bhp base-model Impreza. So why does everybody agree the STi is just a performance Impreza while the SRT-4 is a totally new vehicle? The truth is the SRT-4 isn't anything completely new.

No one really stands on that ceremony except 14-year-olds who like to insist they know something. Dodge simply calls it the SRT-4, but they don't insist it's not a Neon. The SRT-10 is simply called that, as well, not Ram SRT-10, but again, they don't make any insistence about it.

In fact, the "-4" designation is only recent. The car was for years called the "Neon SRT" after the original prototypes came out. But when the "SRT" line looked like it was going to spread across more than one vehicle, Dodge decided to emphasize the performance family identification a bit by deemphasizing the platform name.

Don't even remind me of what happened to the '70 Charger in the Fast and the Furious. *shudders* :scared:
Edit: It's almost at bad as watching your best friend walk off a cliff. Yeah, that bad.
