Are PD listening?

May i ask why it is not realistic to ask for Silverstone when we have seen pictures of the file along with Spa. and the gt academy finals are held there ?

As with almost all things, the answer to this one is licensing. They can model whatever they can get hold of, but if they don't have a licence they can't include it - and asking for something they can't include is not realistic. GT Academy has no relevance to this - any more than the Gran Turismo 5 sunstrips on all of the N24 competitors has relevance on cars included in the game.

EDIT- If they weren't listening, we probably wouldn't have this.

Yeah, I saw that about 2 hours ago from their website - I may have just seen it seconds after it was posted...

It also takes them a good two years to create a track as well and as far as I know we have not had Silverstone shown on the folder list too. The problem PD have is the current unrealistic expectations. They are a development team size similar to say the Codemasters F1 team but without the outsourcing and game engines being handed down to them.

As PD also work on the PSP platform too, they are stretched further. They are already delivering quite a lot as no other game on the same platform has as many cars with full interiors as GT5 but PD are expected to at least double that count in next to no time. Tracks take time to make and the current rate over the last few years will most likely continue with maybe a slight improvement in speed of maybe an extra track getting made in the same period of time.

The big critiscism that can be made is why PD don't put as much of their profits back into the company as they could. This could be due to Sony who need to make money back from software due to big initial loss from hardware. I noticed all the top Sony first party studios are more or less at the same size and have similar growth plans so maybe Sony is restricting the development team sizes. The problem PD has is they have a competitor on the rival platform which they are compared to have constantly at least two to three times the resources since they probably started up so work of PD will constantly be undermined and maybe insulted due to that. The other Sony first party studios do not really have this problem. Hopefully Kaz can push forward the increase of resources idea to Sony as they are the most successful and profitable Sony studio to date.

No doubt PD listen to us but they have constraints on what they can do so some of the requests may make it in the next GT game while some might be added as DLC or updated in.

Not everything fans wish for is realistic - or possible. You don't have to think very hard to come up with severe obstacles preventing PD from turning any given Standard car to Premium.

Which is why premium RUF won't happen right?

It might happen in the near future. Kaz has said before they ran out of time to make cars like for example a Veyron a premium car. Cars like the Yellowbird might get some premium treatment hopefully. The recent DLC there was the Jaguar XJR-9 LM Racecar 1988 which is a sign of them getting some older cars to premium quality.

Purely a licence issue.
I think it is a modelling time issue. They have a lot of cars they need to get modelled already and cars they get access to first will most likely get modelled first. Obviously they will try their hardest to get the most requested cars in first though if they can. The most recently created standard cars are more likely to be made premium as they probably already have all the data required to create a premium car.

That was a wonderful understandable sentence I've read. :) I'll be more consistent with PD's doings of obtaining the best updates they can provide. ;) Maybe the "GT Classic Tracks" will be in GT6. :D New cars and one new track or not is always welcome, unlike the other game that only release cars...

I'm glad you wonderful understand it, because I can't understand either one of you.

Well PD knows most people would love some of the old GT original tracks, even if they were ''standard'' tracks like trial Mountain, but they haven't done even one since release.

Most people want more A-Spec offline single player races, and Kaz even said he wasn't happy with A-Spec, and he talked up the ''Drivers Club'' as if it's release was imminent, and they haven't added new off-line race. There's absolutely no reason why they couldn't expand the A-Spec career in a paid or unpaid DLC pack, or in a major update such as Spec II. That's my biggest frustration w/ GT5.

Yeah, PD listen, but only do what they want to do, or were going to do anyway.

The ''all standard to premium cars'' is a ridiculous expectation though, and I bet will never ever happen.

We'll be lucky if we get 3 to 5% of the current standard cars in premium form, even in GT7.. all of them? Just not gonna happen, ever. Maybe the more significant cars, or some regular Japanese cars, but that's it.

I don't think so. In Forza 4 all of the cars are "premium", and they have half the cars (or nearly half) as in GT 5. Now to say that even GT 7 and or GT 6 will not have many premium cars is just dumb. GT 6 MAY be on PS3 but really most likely be on PS4 which would have double the processing power. GT 7 would most likely be on (if it goes this far) PS5. Your last statement is just plain retarded. Don't be so cynical.

You expect PD to fix every little problem and grant every single wish that people have with the game? I'd like to introduce you to the real world where that's not possible.

[post=6609202]Really! I did not know you worked for PD. Why don't you let PD decide which game will be on which console.

You want to talk about calling people dumb...

Really!!!! I did not know YOU worked for PD! Why don't you let PD decide if it will be in the game or not.

One last thing.........this is a public forum, so people can think and post about what they want without you almost calling them dumb. ie...(You really need to think about this stuff before you decide to rage about it in a thread.)

Well now let's see.

Asked for Spa, we got Spa. Asked for more race cars, you got more.
Asked for more premium cars, you got more premiums. Asked for a test track and quess what you got one.
So yes they are listening. They only have limited resources so cannot do everything they would like to.

I would say their resources are the opposite of limited...

No...when I told you that you were making a matter of fact statement. I on the over hand was making general guesses. Something you did not when I told you that.

God this is so tiring, how many times are threads like this going to be created? You guys are beating a dead horse. That being said, don't feed me the "complaining about complaining" crap as thats just as annoying. I know someone will respond to this trying to sound intelligent with something like "if you don't like it don't read it" or something like that, and honestly you can do the same. I know this sounds ignorant, and I'm not just talking about the this particular OP, and it's great that people are voicing their opinions, but as I'm sure most of you are aware, it gets a little tiring reading threads like this every day, especially when the OP usually contains the same thing each and every time. Then somebody brings Forza in and all hell breaks loose, people start arguing, and again, another dead horse is beaten. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, but you got mad at me when I didn't call someone dumb, but now you called someones statement dumb and his last post "just plain retarded."

That just doesn't work.

Ok...I'm sorry about that. I'll give you that.

To say that all standards will never happen is way out there. Yes I see the "I bet" part too. Later you go on to say "just not gonna happen, EVER" is a bit silly.

I didn't say that, BWX said that. However, I did state it as a "matter of fact" when I said that "Pikes Peak wont ever be in GT5."

So, you got one on me and I got one on you. I guess we're even now.
