Are the cars in Gt5 accurate to real life?

So guys, I don't own Gt5 so I have to ask through the forums. Are the cars in GT5 accurate to how they are in real life? For example, on a Topgear episode they mentioned that the Mercedes sls amg is oversteery, is it like that in Gt5?

Is the Ferrari 458 poised, and precise in the corners?

I need comparisons from Gt5 to real life cars.
 
Since I don't own an AMG or Ferrari I can't say. But my Volvo is pretty bang on.
 
My Veyron is pretty close to the in game Veyron. But I've not tried wrapping my Veyron up at 180mph going round the ring yet.
 
Don't own the 2 cars in question, the R32 GTR is dead-on for car detail in and out. The driving physic for this car in particular since i can relate to personal experience is very very similar. So i can only imagine other cars would share a somewhat similar experience to their real-life counterparts given that the physics engine takes into account real life weight,power etc....
 
Well I own the Ferrari 458 and the car has some amazing handling. I've driven the SLS in the AMG challenges and without any tcs especially in the rain it can oversteer.
 
I don't have any experience at race track speeds with any of these cars, but I think they are pretty accurate with a few exceptions. The rear engine rwd cars have been complained about, but with no real experience I can't agree or disagree. The only car that I think is a bit off is that damn Lotus 111, really hard to get down, lots of trail braking. Never seems this hard to drive when watching someone else drive them on TV, but could be close.

My only complaint is the sound, but that's always an issue in GT. Its really as good as it has ever been, but that's not saying much. The sound some cars make will completely blow you away, leaves me wondering how those sounds got past quality control.:scared:
 
On some cars, yes, on others, no.

I have a GT-R R33, and the in game version is quite accurate, I have it set up similar to how mine is set, and it goes well. My cousin has a Mitsubishi FTO as well, which he says is quite realistic.

He also has a Mini Cooper though, a '97, which is the same as the '98 in game, and he says to be quite honest it's a pathetic effort. It's a very nippy and quick car upto 80, the in game one barely hits 80, and takes an age to do so. Plus a 6 speed gear box... Good luck getting that one in there...

If you've only driven this on the Top Gear Challenge, don't crefit the experience, buy one and load it with Sports Soft or Racing Soft tyres, and you'll be in for a treat. The Challenge had it on comfort hards, there's only so much anything can do on those.
 
From my experience, they are pretty accurate - except for the exhaust note. My big block '66 Shelby Cobra sounds a lot throatier than my GT5 model.
It does handle about the same; not so good except in a straight line.
A lot of understeer.
My CL600 handles about the same, feels really heavy, but with ample power from the V12.
The real car is so much quieter than the GT5 model.

The GT40 is dead on! Very neutral handling in the twisties; with a pretty narrow powerband.
