Are the myths about shaving true?

That's pap - mine's about the same.

I cut back on shaving because I don't like it.
 
I hate shaving, its a pain the butt. only do it when i starts to bother me, even then i just trim it back
 
I agree with everyone above... Razor Blade companies just make that up to sell more...

Btw, electric sucks! Always use a blade.

It depends on what kind of hair you have. Mine is way too thick for any electric razors, I'm a Gillete Sensor II man. (Mach 3 is OK, but doesn't get the chin all that well)
In the past I've tried almost everything including Norelco's, and Braun.
Many of my friends are Asians, and they use electric because their facial hair is wispy at best. :p
 
This has to be the craziest thread I've seen at GTP ... ha ha. Good stuff (:

I use a Mach 3 (I believe ...) but really don't have a stought facial hair crop to worry about.

I'm not sure how thick too thick is. I think I may have too thick, but I'm not sure. I still wanna get electric anyway, jus to try it out. :)

Try out a friend's first (if you know anyone that has one) My experience (and why I try and dissuade people from using electric) is because when it doesn't work properly it yanks the hairs, leaving a rash. Especially on the neck. :nervous:

This is ESPECIALLY why I do not use an electric.

Same with me... I use the Mach 3 every day.. My damn hair grows too damn fast. :rolleyes:
 
I'm also convinced that if you're in your teens and early twenties, shaving with a blade prevents pimples.

I hate electric razors - they have no effect on the sandpaper on my face that masquerades as stubble.
 
I have an electric razor, my face is hard to shave with regular razors. my elec. is on the cheap side but far better than non elec. i'd been using.
 
i got myself a mach 3, and it grows back a beast after about 2 days. i gotta shave regularly, like every day, and i'm 18. i also shave the bit of hair on the bridge of my nose, cos i'm not too keen on the idea of an unobrow :D
 
If you use an electric razor make sure you get one with a Long Hair trimmer. I only shave when my chin starts to itch like crazy and then I have to get the majority off with the long hair trimmer. And then use the normal bit with the shorter stuff.
 
I've been using an electric for the past 10 years. Blades cut me something fierce, almost to the point (no pun intended) of requiring blood tranfusions. End result is a close shave but very irritated skin, especially on the neck.

I have the new Norelco Advantage, with lotion inside. Works like a charm...just hit the button, and instant lubrication. Shaves just as close as any blade I've used. The only downside is (1) charging it, and (2) It doesn't get everything on the first pass like a blade does. But the extra 2 minutes is worth not having irritated red skin.

BTW Most of the time I just hate shaving. My facial hair is thick enough that I *could* shave every day, but since I don't have to, I usually do it every other day. Besides, stubble is cool :cool:
 
I actually use both a blade (Mach 3) and an electric razor, depending on how close of a shave I want. :D Of course, I've got a very cool electric razor and it does the best job of any electric razor I've used.
 
To all the guys who shave with a blade - have you noticed that freaky thing where, if you shave right after a shower, it doesn't feel as close as if you shave without showering, but after five or six hours, it feels a lot closer than shaving without showering?

Darker as you get older? I have to disagree with ya there... I have like 14 different colors of hair in my goat! It originally started out as one dark color... ;) Keep in mind that the hair on my head is pitch black... :D
 
i find that although tweezing takes a couple of hours, it does leave the face smooth like a baby's face .....j/k

nah, i shave with a razor although i think it's a bit primitive since the main goal is to get rid of the hair ... you'd think ideally you would want to use a wax or hair remover to fully remove the hair at its root and prolong the smoothness of your face but i guess most guys don't do that .....another method would be laser hair removal but that's quite costly and some guys might start to miss their stubble ;)

Ha! It'd take about a month to tweeze all the whiskers off my face....and about ten years of therapy.

Isn't facial hair much more deeply rooted than body hair? I was under the impression that waxing your face would involve most of the skin coming out with the hair.

Besides - have you ever had your legs waxed? As Mel Gibson said in 'What Women Want': 'anybody who does this more than once is insane'.
