Are the myths about shaving true?

Please stop referring to 'shaving' and 'pain in the arse/ass' in the same thread - I'm starting to wonder about what techniques some of you are using...

That's what I said...I mean, c'mon. If shaving is a pain in the a$$, odds are you're doing something wrong. :weird:

I've been using an electric for the past 10 years. Blades cut me something fierce, almost to the point (no pun intended) of requiring blood tranfusions. End result is a close shave but very irritated skin, especially on the neck.

I have the new Norelco Advantage, with lotion inside. Works like a charm...just hit the button, and instant lubrication. Shaves just as close as any blade I've used. The only downside is (1) charging it, and (2) It doesn't get everything on the first pass like a blade does. But the extra 2 minutes is worth not having irritated red skin.

BTW Most of the time I just hate shaving. My facial hair is thick enough that I *could* shave every day, but since I don't have to, I usually do it every other day. Besides, stubble is cool
If i were to get an electric the Norelco Advantage, with lotion inside. would be the one i would chose like Macka said. :p

So how do you all save.. Up or Down. For me its when i save down its good enough for a day. But when i save going up i get a better save that can last for 2 days.

I still wanna know why stubble is so great. And shaving is a pain in the ass. Not so much pain wise but more about the frequency of shaving. I don't wanna take the time to do it. If I could live without having to shave, I would be much hapier. It's not fun at all, it's not like its a sport :D

Agree - but being the classic 'little Aussie bleeder' I'm probably going to feel faint for a couple of hours. Definitely wouldn't be wearing a white shirt - the neck'd look like Dracula had been at it.

Stubble is manly, you sissy girl. :p j/k

Eh, I dunno. Shaving is a PITA, but I don't think I'd ever do anything more permanent...not yet, anyway.

I do only up for my chin, but that's after I did it downwards first. When I do it up, it gets irritating someitimes, and those bumps form. And I needa get a better razor. I currently have some cheap 5 dollar thing. I'd rather get the cleaner shave with a better more expensive razor.

Oh but not too slow... than i will cut myself.

Well, my job doesn't require me to shave every day, so that's why I do it every other day. It's a time issue. Plus I wear contacts, so in the morning, it's just extra getting-ready time. Seeing is more important than smooth baby face so if I'm in a lazy mood then I won't shave.

Once I finish college I'll have to do it every day.

I was actually always a blade-man myself but I think I fell prey to the morning-laziness eventually. Let me tell you, nothing like shaving with a blade and some warm lather to get the face smoothed out....
But it just takes too much gosh-darn time to do it right. I can hurry through it with a minimum of nicks & cuts but I'd rather not.
I broke down & bought a mid-range Norelco year before last. It doesn't get rid of the stubble anywhere near as well as a good sharp blade, but I can be done with it in about 5 minutes with electric.
Apparently I've been "blessed" with exceedingly thick facial hair. Lucky me...

That electric with the lotion looks real nice...but I just don't wanna lay down the cash for it.
