Are there any real racing enthusiasts left online?

Nice one, Aki!! We should try that sometime!

Highly recommended. I got feeling that 'player matching' took us everytime to the same Grid because of PP... only guessing of course, but there was couple times full Grid of our Cappuccino tuneds. Very funny to see those 'rice-cups' fighting seriously. :)

ps. Tonight we are racing 'Schumacher-Race'... it means free to choice of Germany cars, and ofcourse road Ferraris. No PP restrictions on this, so tune so much you can. Yesterday was 'Stig-Race, drivers on reasonable priced cars'.

Feel free to join us if youre interested, timeschedule is BST 8.07,17,27,37,47,57,etc,etc...(Fi 22.07...)

Some of us has not so much experience, so forgive us some small incidents. I guarantee, everybody is doing all they can to drive honourable.

Oh, so that was you guys! LOL... I was wondering last night why there was a grid half filled with Cappucinos @ Fuji... :) LOL good idea though... makes it a bit more interesting and youre not caught up with all the punters..... :)👍

Another solution is to wait at the start and do car battles, i.e initial D style lead and chase rules.

1. Pick to rival cars and tune to similar PP (e.g. STI Vs Evo)
2. Wait at the start (move out the way or reverse so you ghost)
3. Lead car goes ahead and flashes brake lights to initiate the race, then race all the way round til where the concrete run off ends out of the last turn, then slow down and regroup, swap places and race again when you get near T1 again (this eliminates slipstreaming chances which bias the race) Then begin again, the winner is the car which pulls away more then around 0.7 or more when leading, and keeps up within that when chasing (have to estimate the gaps though). Also no overtaking is allowed. Should a car crash (important if lead crashes) then the other wins.

Similarly if more then one car is present do the same but allow overtaking and whoever finishes the section first wins, using the lowest max PP is often the easy way to work out PP (we used 653 as it was the STI 07s maximum). It makes for some great battles :)

This sounds interesting as well... :)

Yes, thats right 800 cars and all the tracks... the old school ones... Trial Mountain was one of my favorites :) I also miss B-spec mode... hehehe then I could just sit on the couch and eat chips while I told the driver to pass or push hard heheheh :) those were the days ... LOL :dopey:
LMAO!!!:lol::lol:
B-Spec's puttin in the hard yards while your chillin with a bag a chips LMAO!!!
Your funny man!:D
Hi EVO9Nate, love your Z man, the engine bay is spotless...attention to detail. ;)
I live on Australia's East Coast, you'll find me racing Pro events, mainly Fuji, I'm giving the GT-R Drivers something to think about in my Evo X.:trouble:
Fuji is overrun with GT-R's because they are obviously faster, I choose to stick with the Evo X simply because it makes for a much harder race for me, I'm running laps at about 1:39.5's, yes I would agree with previous posts, most JP Racers drive good clean laps. If you want to add me, well hook up some racers, I Race 110% clean so no worrys there man.;)
Peace out,
OnlineGT

Don't play much online anymore, and when I do its at 750PP at Fuji in an underpowered Nissan Skyline Coupe (730PP maxed)

yea I use the 599, which I recall goes to 729. Although it's still...fairly competative. I was coming in 3rd last night behind 2 GTLMSQUAD guys. They both beat me by like 3-4 seconds though.

I will usually use the BMW M3 on Fuji 750, but I believe I max out at 677? So I usually get punted off by the masses of Amuse and GT-R's on the first corner. I'm not too concerned, I just consider this practice until GT5 comes out.

I've seen a few people on Fuji in M3's and the like. What do you get out of it exactly? Surely it's a guaranteed last place with little or no interaction with other cars. Aren't you just as well doing single player hotlaps?

I'm not criticizing you, just trying to get my head around the motivation.

Dude, if you want clean races with racing enthusiasts then you're playing the wrong game! The collision physics combined with the lack of damage, combined with the lag, combined with the way you're put into the game, combined with the average age/skill level/enthusiasm of a gt5p player, combined with the very short races, makes for a very hostile online environment. I gave up on it as soon as I tried it. I can't imagine any racing enthusiast finding value in the online portion of this game (unless gt5p is all they can afford/play) . Gt5 can get it right, but there would have to be so many changes that I doubt they can do it even by 2010.

I find it extremely challenging, honestly. The times when I'm not punted off on the first turn usually make for some interesting races. I have been able to beat some 750's, but this is rare. Most of the time they just stop racing.

I managed 5th in an M3 the other day... And 2nd in a group of 5 GTRs with a 706PP NSX, if you drive them clean you can often surprise yourself. You don't have to be rocket fast to do well in a slow car.

Bah thats nothing :p try the Viper GTS for a fun challenge.

I've won races in the GTS it has the straight line might to make up for rubbish handling... I've also tuned SRT10 and a Z06 for similar experiences, all will win races against the average fuji driver, find a good driver though and you have no chance

I'm going to give your SRT tune up a go tomorrow. I've tried it but I'm rubbish at setups and I couldn't get the speed or handling I needed. I do like the vipers too.
