Are you guys reluctant to drive new cars?

I may be a collector but I still plan on driving most of my cars, regardless if they are brand new or not. I just have a few 0/0/0 cars on a alternate account so I can use them for trades.

This 0/0/0 thing doesn't bother me at all, so if they need to be driven they will.

I drive the crap out of every car I have, no holding back! It's a game, it's supposed to be fun!

I find in particular that i grow attached to one car out of a fleet, like for me there will always be this one car that feels different from the others, like for instance out of my 6 LP670s i like my oldest, a white example, best, a scenario being a hotlap around trial mountain, cant drop below 1:30 on sport softs with any of the other newer LP670s, but with this one, i can crack deep into the 1:28s, and once i pulled a 1:28.274 or 1:27.274 out of it (cant remember which) out of it, it is a completely stock car except for the sport softs. Or another example, i have about 13 or 14 seperate ZR1s, but my favorite one is the red one, the one i bought 3rd or 4th, does anyone else get these connections with one particular car out of a batch of several identical ones? Before anyone flames me, i really have nothing better to do with the money, i bought everything i like, so i just buy the colors i like nowadays.

I get attached to certain cars like you but my laptimes are the same if the setup is, I still put loads of miles on them.
BTW I think the ZR1 is the best US car on the game and definitley under used in my garage.

I agree. Specially RM'd. It will take you far. And as far as the touching the 0/0/0 cars go i couln't bring my self to using them... i don't know what it was. Whenever i raced online i would have the perfect standard car for it, but just couldn't use it. Stuck to premiums. :grumpy:

I'm sorry, but this is one of the most ridiculous things that I see mentioned every now and then.

Just so I have it straight... you're afraid to drive a cartoon car in a video game for fear of putting miles on it? Are you afraid it's going to cause the car to go down in value or something? :)

I guess this is a true testament as to how far away from a driving/racing game that GT has gone.

I made a third account for this very reason,to tune and drive every car in the game.👍

"We Love Cars *GT5*" Remember that song? That's what GT5's all about. :D The cars love you back. Premium and Standard or not, they're cars and we drive them. ;)

My dlc cars I have 2 of each, minus chrome & stealth.

I don't know why I do that tho. Could be that having one totally in stock form incase I want to run a race online with stock cars maybe.

And then the other tuned car can be used for anything really.

Basically if I don't want to use a new car I buy 2.

Hahaha, that's the same thing I do. :) I even had two classic mini coopers and two fiat 500s, one was stock and one was tuned. ;)

Hey guys, I seem to have a problem with driving new cars. When I acquire a brand new car with 0/0/0 I do not touch it AT ALL. This is really infuriating because there are cars I'm dying to drive like the F40. Is there a way to turn off the auto-save feature? Also if I drive the car so much as 0.1 mile and don't hit anything I am asked to pay huge amounts for the Chassis stability thing, shouldn't that pop up after long racing use like the engine rebuild?
Um....isn't the whole point of this game to drive the cars? It is afterall a driving simulator. If they wanted you to just drool over the cars..the game would come with a bottle of hand lotion and a box of tissue.:sly:

Lol. I know a game that does that, 24/7. All I can say, it has a "4" in the end near it's name.

^^^
But seriously, I don't know why people buy cars and don't drive them, that doesn't make any sense to me. Cars are built to be driven whether it's in a game or a real car I believe that you should drive it

^ Agreed 👍 I know right. That's how cars were meant to be, and always will be. :) Driving them was the best choice and only choice when it comes to cars. "We love cars GT5 Edition"

I have to agree with all those saying its daft not to drive new cars. I'm pretty sure the slogan for the game is "the real driving simulator". So to all those who are scared to drive a new car get on track and drive it like you stole it.

New Game concept:
"Gran Carshow 5: The real showroom simulator"

I don't drive my cars, racing is reckless behavior and scary. You guys need to be careful.

That's right, it's a game, and it's supposed to be fun. Oddly enough, though, what's fun seems to be different for different people. For some, I guess, it would be fun whacking a rare unused stamp on an envelope to send off, after all, it's a stamp, it was meant to be used for sending mail. Others, on the other hand, would find absolutely nothing fun about it. In general, I do agree though, it's a game, and it's supposed to be fun. :)

A stamp is real, the cars in this game are not!

Haha that's about right and to win a new car in Gran Carshow you have to look at your current car for an hour.:)

Make a new forum called GCPlanet
I can see it now... Wishlist threads saying "We need pebble beach!"

💡 That would actually be another great GT5 photomode location...

They aren't any less real but what's the point in buying something if you aren't gonna use it

I'm sure to some people there's absolutely no point, yet, to others, there's a point in just having something. And if you want something in mint, get it, and then you end up using it, you no longer have it in mint, so what then was the point of getting it in the first place? See, there definitely is a point to not using it. ;)

I am one of those 0/0/0 standard car collectors. I go about it a bit differently tho than most others. I drive first, then worry about collecting second. I would never let my collecting get in my way of driving these cars, thats just rediculous. Why do I collect 0/0/0 cars? For me, its just another way to enjoy the game. But, like I said, driving first. If you are not driving these cars, you are missing out. And as far as collecting premium cars and not driving them, thats just insane when you can readily buy as many as you want. Money should not be an issue either will the seasonals paying like they do. Never heard of collecting premiums tho and not driving them, thats one I haven't heard of before.

I have bought cars I have never driven because it's a car I might drive in the future but didn't get around to driving yet. I'm in the Vintage Car Race Club for example so any car that pops up that's pre-90's I buy just in case I'll need it someday. But to not drive a car or "collect" cars because they are 0/0/0 is a bit on the silly side. They are just streams of bits and bytes they aren't real cars. To me it would equate to collecting pictures out of a magazine:sly:

And no, it's not the same as collecting stamps or coins because those things are real, they aren't bits and bytes. They have monetary value, even if it's only to the collector or the face value of a stamp.

They be just bits and bytes but they show up on the screen as virtual cars. Like I said, I don't make it a high priority, but I do collect. You may find it silly, but for me, its just something different for me to do in the game.
