Are you surprised that GT5 has been delayed once again? I am not, since it has been delayed since back in 2008 and at the present they are now expecting the release to be Fall of 2010. It will be delayed once again. I just know it from the progress that it is in. Give us your true thoughts about these delays and what exactly you may do if Polyphony Digital does not seem to find the permanent release any time soon.

Because Sony needs to get some major sales and they need them soon, they need to properly release the game. I DOUBT that PD has anything to do with this, since they are not PUBLISHING the game

It's only been delayed ONCE. You can't officially announce a delay unless you have a date set. Even then, it was only for Japan. I will not be placing a vote.

*coughs* and *coughs* then :yuck: Excuse me, but think again.

He's talking about the push backs, which there have been multiple push backs since '08.
Good for you.

Onto the question, I didn't expect anymore delays, but I never expected for a NA release date any sooner than May/June.

With Sonys current financial situation... no. But I will however bet a membership to this site that it will be released will be releaseed before April 1st 2011, as that would be a catastrophe for Sony 2010 budget

To the people who voted yes: seriously?

They pulled the same crap with GT4 and seeing as kaz has a rather severe case of OCD+perfectionism, none of this comes as any surprise what so ever.

+1. I'll even go as far as saying that I wouldn't be surprised if they push back the release date even further.

If you've been following the GT franchise for several generations, you'll know this is about par for the course for PD. It's sad but true.

No, not because of their past. Pretty much every major game goes through delays and with as much content as GT5 will supposedly have it's not surprise it's taking this long.

I mean when GT5's release went from 2008 to whoever knows when it will come out exactly. Now please can we stay on topic?

Yes, seriously.

I wasn't into racing games when GT4 was coming out. I was really expecting GT5 to be released somewhere around spring/summer. I'm surprised, not upset. :)

R1600 Turbo is right, GT5 hasn’t been delayed in most regions as it has never had a release date. I’m sure PD have held back from issuing a release window so that they wouldn’t be accused of delaying the game, sadly this hasn’t worked for everyone.

@ Eric or whatever you’re calling yourself today. It seems to me like you’ve created this thread and made many of your other posts to stir up arguments and gain notoriety which is making you look like an attention seeking child. Maybe it’s time you found a different forum which is more suitable to your style of discussion.

It's made out of software. I develop software for a living. I voted no - things made out of software get delayed. Par for the course. ;)

No:
1. It´s GT
2. It´s PD
3. It´s tradition
They have learned one thing : They don´t give us a release date for EU/US and now they don´t give a JP date! If there were a new date already, i would bet it will be delayed once again. My bet is Christmas 2010. That would mean a long wait but serious, what do I do with a Game in the Summer? I don´t play much in the Summer. 10 more month to live ;)

IMO, they should go one way or another,

A) Shut-up, stop releasing demos, pull all magazine articles, then just keep their heads down until it's finished, then release it at short notice.

B) Be more transparent, and tell us why it's taking longer, is it going to be better, did it have problems, are they adding stuff, is it purely for marketing/sony reasons.

Basically, tell us nothing, or tell us everything.

+1 It's particularly daft to make comments such as, 'we can release it any time', when they obviously have no intention of releasing it anytime soon. Basically do what apple do, work very hard, very secretively, produce a quality product, announce to much fanfair and release two months later. If your product is good enough it'll create the hype and sell massively. We live in a 24 hour a day information overload world, a couple of months is plenty time to build the hype.

Frustratingly, this statement is 100% accurate. Though it doesn't mean it's OK that we've been expecting this game since 2008. It's just the way it had to be.

I'm sure PD knew from the beginning that GT5 would take about this long to complete. Maybe not this long but..

THIS! We are the fans of this series and (albeit indirectly) we pay PD's wages. It's a question of basic manners. Keep us informed guys. There really is no reason not to, aside from some cloak and dagger business game that really doesn't account for anywhere near as much as the overall quality in terms of the success of the final result.

Am i surprised? No.

Am i that bothered? No. Because if the game released in March i wouldn't have the money for a PS3, wheel and HDTV to go with it.

Wow 22 people actually voted yes?! They must be new to the series. *looks at the 22 people on the list...* Yup most of them are new.

I voted yes because I honestly thought PD had their s**t together.

But I was wrong, and that's why I'm still waiting. Thankfully there are other games out there.

I have been a GT fan since the day GT1 released, good logic there buddy.
Why did I not expect this recent delay?
"We can release it anytime. its 90% complete"
Those two statements.

To r1600turbo, I think most people would understand what he meant when he said delays since 2008.

It's a big game. Big game are almost expected to be delayed. GT4 was delayed and then had online removed so I was disappointed, not shockingly surprised.
I wouldn't be surprised if a feature is missing in the full game.

I'm surprised. It was an official release date. It should have been met. PD should know better than giving us a release date that they were not sure they could keep.
