I'd say I am but that isn't because I'm that great of a driver... Rather, all my friends simply suck. Horribly.

While I was never the one to say it, my friends always have told me I have great car control. I've spent lot's of time sliding sideways in the dirt and rain. We used to set up rally tracks in the woods. I used to love pushing my truck, which at the time was a 5 speed 4 cylinder Ford Ranger. When I had it, I searched and found there was an actual rally truck in Australia same make and model as mine, just with a turbocharger and suspension modifications, mine only had full exhaust, intake and tires. We used to get four wheel air and blast down trails, connecting from tarmac to dirt and gravel. My town has so many places that are great to run, if you just want to do some offroading, there are even more places, my two wheel drive would only take me so far when it came to water pits and mud. I'm surprised the truck never once broke, although it had overheated once from being ran at high RPM's in the middle of the day heat for long periods of time. I was never into street racing or anything like most my friends, but they used to love some high speed runs in the woods. So I suppose by their vote I would be the best because I was able to handle technical low grip driving well. Fast in the woods for my 4cyl Ranger was 55-75mph, we were not setting any land speed records, just having lot's of fun at the edge of what a mostly stock truck could handle. All that being said, you will eventually hit something someday. So, I guess maybe I'm not as good as they thought.

Looking back, I'd never do that stuff again, it's not worth it, someone could have been injured really bad, pine trees only give so much. But it sure was fun while it lasted.:dunce:

I think Im probably the most confident and the fastest of my friends. I have never lost a day at the go karts against any of them, but having said that i also have the most traffic offenses and have lost my liscence alot more than any of them. It really comes down to what you consider to be good driving.

I'm the best driver in the world, so inherently, I'm better than my friends.

My buddy Cesar is one hell of a driver, so he's better than me, but other than that, no one else really.

(IIRC, he drove Keefs car around a track faster than Keef drove it around a track.)

Keef takes extra time because he has to spray perfume before he takes off.

I don't know of anybody who knows how to heel-toe and all of that, or who even attempts to rev match a downshift. And the only ones I know that have cars worth throwing around a corner have a C5 Corvette and an automatic LS2 GTO. So I'm going to go with neither knows how to corner.

Truck- and straight-line-ville here. I even know someone who got a settlement and will be getting a Camaro SS RS...automatic. "You can't use the power here". Yet, he has a six speed manual gearbox on his old Yamaha 600cc sportbike. The same logic dictates he should have a 125cc scooter.

I would definitely think so... :D

1. I'm 13 and I can drive a stick (Need to work on smoother shifting though, not too bad but it needs work :ouch:).
2. I would think I have the most seat time. (Roughly... 3 or 4 hours over a LONG period of time.)
3. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that has a G25 (Which I would say has definitely improved my driving skills.)

I'm going off the people in my grade. There is one kid that actually races karts for real. But... I think I'm the best in an actual car.

I only have one friend who regularly drives stick and knows how to rev match and heel-and-toe. And she’s a little filipino girl. And she usually drives in heels.

Well I took it to mean performance driving, and since none of my friends are really into fast cars like I am, they wouldn't even know many performance driving techniques other than basic racing line. I was also the best out of us at the defensive driving course we did a while back, so I'd have to tip myself.:p

When I'm on form, I'm better than almost all of my friends/relatives/acquaintances. But there are a couple who are/were competition drivers who are better than me.

But when I'm not on form, I can suck quite badly. It depends on how tired I am, and how much distraction there is in the car. Also, I find the opportunities to display talent are quite limited in modern-day driving.

Well, most of my friends suck at driving, one of my friends lives on a farm and has lots of driving experience, but I would beat him for sure in any sort of performance driving. I guess you could say i'm 2nd best in regular driving, but in any kind of performance driving i would for sure be the best (none of my friends even know what a racing line is)

No. Not at all actually. I'm always smoking/eating/talking on the phone while I'm driving. (I actually attempted the macarena once...) So I'm probably not the best driver. Still better than most of my friends because I rarely drive alone and wouldn't want to endanger anyone I'm close to. My friend John however has worked on a farm and has been driving (standards) since he was like 9. Oh I can't drive a stick either. But I've only gotten one ticket (ran stop sign) and been in one fender bender (wasn't my fault.. woman ran into the back of me)

Considering that half of my family has ridden or driven something competitively, id say that I rank somewhere in the upper half, having old driven karts for 6 years.

Awesome, 2:1 yes:no ratio!

One of my friends has had the opportunity to drive stick. So, even though he can't technically drive, he beats me. Related: What the hell is a column-shifter doing on a manual transmission?

Giving the center passenger legroom.

Marry that woman!

When it comes to the normal daily driving I can't say I'm the best. I mean yeah I do drive fairly responsibly but I do like quite a bit of wet road drifting so I can't say I'm the best at being responsible.

When it comes to the performance driving it's hard to say. A lot of my friends are car and motor sport enthusiasts so we all like a bit of performance driving. I'm third overall in the local autocross championship so I'm better in that regard. I'd say I'm better than my friends at grip driving a RWD car since I drive one daily and in competition so I have more experience. I'm ok at drifting but one my friends is a good drifter too and I'd say he's better than me in some ways. Another one of my friends is a very good FWD driver. Have seen him put down some great driving in FWD cars he just got into for the first time. Definitely better than me.

My vote has to be no. ;)

Yes. I've driven with all my friends that can drive, and can honestly say I'm the safest, which in the end relates to best. For starters, most still have issues stopping on the line at a stop sign/light, and in turns don't hold their lanes well.

When it comes to fooling around though, I'm the fastest too :D

i guess so, im the most experienced in my closest group of friends. most dont drive at all, of the friends that have done or still do drive, one has just passed and the other is terrifying and well...the garage down the road twice convinced her that she needed to buy a new engine for her car, which not only was pointless thing to waste on a vw polo the first time and a fiesta the second, was even a smaller engine too!
i think a good driver would be one that could adapt quickly to different cars. plus if you have an interest in cars, you will have an interest in being a good driver. whether or not it is completely true every time because complacency would also be frequent but i think in a majority of people it would figure.

If you put yes, and you're friends with me, then you were lying.

I'm the best driver out of everyone I'm friends with........ oh no wait, I'm friends with The Cracker too......

:irked:👍

Without question. I'm also the only one to have never hit a stationary object. Yet.

I voted NO :) A friend of mine (the same age, several times more mileage) drove me the the seaside (accros the whole country) in a Audi A3 1.8T FWD. There were corners where I thought my limit was 140 km/h and he was taking them easily at 180 km/h  And it was the first time I travelled 1000 km (to and back) without being overtaken a single time :D

Of all my friends, I am the only person who

A. Has never been puller over
B. Has never wrecked my car
C. Never had someone puke all over my backseat
D. Knows where my car is.
E. Knows where my license is at all times.

All of my friends have speeding tickets, wrecked their car, Got a DUI/ suspended license, etc....

My car is also the cleanest and doesn't have any cracked windows.

Same for me except C, but the guy was way too drunk to remember it :D

I think I am. Only three of my friends can drive, and one only has a beginner's learning permit. Of the other two, neither one displays fine control of a vehicle in normal driving. Performance driving, too, I beat them at. I don't have much practice with a manual, though, but I can drive one.

Well me neither. I've hit a couple moving objects though. A fence, a tree, some curbs. They just jump out of nowhere. It's crazy.

No, simply because one of my friends has a B class license. He also had Haz Mat but dropped it.
