The Track: Tahiti Circuit 2 (Reverse)
The Car: Any ARCADE Rally Car
The Race: Free Run-Best Lap Time

Rules

1. Standard OLR rules apply, thus two tires on track at all times, no wall touches, and no cheating!
2. All T-times may be discussed in this thread but total lap times are to be kept under wraps.
3. All final times must be PM'd to me by the posted deadline.

Deadline: Tuesday, October 12th, 5:00PM Central Time

Bummer, I thought this'd be a simple one-car-per-race series. Gonna have to sit out the multiple choice races.

Why is that eggman? I'll change it to solely the Xsara if youd like.

Nah, don't change it for my sake... I am just "lazy" in this regard I guess. I'm driving about 3-6 competitions a week (+working full-time and being a single dad), so I don't have time to test multiple cars, and why bother refining my line in a single car if it may not be competitive with what others are driving?

Never know, I may have a change of heart later in the week if someone else finds a clear favorite.

No problem eggman, I can see your problem. I don't like to limit it to just 1 car in case someone likes a certain car a lot and wants to use it, even if it is not the fastest. However, I can tell you right now, the car for this track is the Xsara, by far. I don't think its any great secret, so I hope you can come up with a time this week.

Er, I'm not planning to be Mr. Smart Ass, especially after my performance in week 1 :yuck: but it cannot be both an "ARCADE Rally Car" and an "S-Class" at the same time. You'd better remove this 'S'.

Fixed 👍.

First secession at TC II
T1) 0:26.360
T2) 0:57.879

Great splits, GT3mich. 👍 Only a couple of tenth from your ARC run. Planning on going that low again?

After first session I'm at:

26.904
58.797

Already 8 tenth under my ARC run. This time around I am driving with manual. It really gives a lot. Hoping to shave another ½ second.

I beat my ARC time yesterday by a couple Tenths but nudge the wall at turn 1 :grumpy: My Goal is to get a little lower and set a new record. Nearly there. Off by .2

Good luck with your quest, GT3mich. 👍

If your race is released on video here in Europe, I sure would love to see it. :D

I am now at:

26.764
58.576

.3 from target and it's getting harder.

T1 - 26.315
T2 - 57.766

New personal best!:D

Oh yeah, it'll help that I already have this race done from ARC. I'll see if I can improve on it this weekend. 👍

T1)26.190
T2)57.553
Almost my personal best.
Saw a 57.3xx yesterday but brushed the wall on turn 1 :grumpy:

Wow, this is really gettin down there. Great racing guys.

You guys running rocket power option or something?

First 10 laps best T2 is 1'01.0xx. :O

I haven't even gotten started and I'm ready to throw in the towel already. :(

Been a while since I ran TCII, but I still remember the track at least. What the hell have I gotten myself into here. :scared:

Everyone running the Xsorry?

Any more normal crappy drivers like myself going to run this? :odd:

EDIT - Ran 5 more laps.... so disregard most of the above, I was just used to running the 1002hp Altezza. :sly:
Didn't realise I didn't have to brake in the Xsorry. 💡
Best clean lap after 15 laps is 27.0xx / 59.4xx.
Much better, at least I'm in the ballpark now. 👍

I'll be in but I didn't start practising yet.
The good thing : my first lap will also be my personal best.
I hope I'm not twice the slowest driver in 2 races. :guilty:

Good to see you racing this, flat-out and tuff. I was beginning to feel a little lonely in the dust-clouds raised by the ancient rally-gods. I wonder when our local rally-god, will unpack his rally-god-relic and chase all those foreign gods away. ;)

BTW. I am in the Xsara too, tuff.

My T times are a bit slower but I shaved off .3 at the end of the run so I have a new Record time for this track
T1) 26.353
T2) 57.600
I'm done for now. Good Luck guys

I will have to sit out, because mainly I dislike rally races.

GT3mich
I have a new Record time for this track

Well, I am improving too. Just cut 0.006. :ouch: Now just O.296 to my target time.

:grumpy:
I had forgotten how much I dislike the rally races in GT3.
To force myself to run some laps, I had set as a goal to have a clean T2 below 1'00.
That's done, I saw a 27.285 / 59.818. Unfortunatey I touched the outside wall in the last turn but one (penultimate would say Famine).
I'll submit now anyway, and my best 100% clean is 27.972 / 1'00.693
I hope I'll enjoy the race next week, good luck to you driving in the dust.

Did a quick five laps in the car and hit a pretty fair lap with a 58.4 T2. Is anyone else using the handbrake for turn 1? If you aren't try using it because I think it may be faster.

26.613
58.430

Only 0.009 from my target. :D Guess I'll have to settle with that, as Laguna is calling too.

Interesting idea, iceman. In the start I had trouble with trowing the Xsara around in that turn. I tried it a couple of times, and it certainly throws the Xsara around. But after a lot of laps I sticked with the normal brakes.

Nice T2. 👍 Whats your T1? And last, are you a wheel-driver?

I think the T1 was in the 26.7 area. I saw a couple 26.5's and 6's. I think I'll do a few more laps today because I'm pretty sure I can shave off a bunch. And no, I'm not using a wheel. I wonder if Mich is using the handbrake also.

No hand brake here and I've posted the lowest T1 times so far. The trick as always in GT3 is to brake early and power thru the turns. Stay close to the left side wall at turn 1 and if done right you should end up in the middle of the track pointing straight forward. If you are too close to the right side wall, it will effect your turn in point for turn 2 and that will slow you down leading up to T1. I'm using a Momo wheel and would't know what to press for the hand brake even if that option where availible. The buttons are limited and I don't want to change the configuration.

Interesting, I'll have to give this another try without the handbrake. I wish I had a wheel , I probably would see some better times with it.

iceman, After you mentioned it I tried it a few times and found that the car throws well with the handbrake but has to much sideways motion. As GT3mich says, brake early and power through the corner and you should find yourself set up in the middle of the track for the second corner which is just as important as getting through turn one quickly. I like normal brakes for rallying. Never had much luck using the handbrake anywhere.

Time submitted. No further improvements.
