Ascari turns are supposed to be reminiscent of famous tracks, which ones?

I've searched the internet high and low and find this familiar phrase "The track includes recreations of famous corners from other tracks around the world". But they never seem to identify them. I've run the track a few times trying to recognize a corner from anywhere and come up blank.

Do any of the corners look familiar to you? If so, from where?

No corners are familiar to me.

Here is some exaples:
-the Bathurst corner is the Forrest’s Elbow at Bathurst.
-the Eau Rouge is of course from spa francorchamps
-Copse is Copse Corner from Silverstone.
-Hill is modelled after Graham Hill Bend at Brands Hatch.
-the Senna S is from Buenos Aires Circuit.
-I think Gachot is modelled after Adelaide at Magny-Cours, but I'm not sure.
-SPA could be the one modelled after the Nordschleife Karussell. (again, not 100% sure)

I'm not sure all corners are based on other corners tho.

Yeah all the parts of every track I hate. :(

I believe SPA is based on turn 14 at Spa Francorchamps (Campus), but I could be wrong

Maybe... But it is said that there is a corner that is modelled after the Karussell on Ascari. and SPA is the only one I can think of that is anywhere close to it...
And Campus is not banked.

Yeah you could be right, I'm sure there is someone who knows the history of this place better. It seems odd to call it SPA though, different tracks in different countries, maybe its an acronym or something?

Graham Hill Bend at Brands isn't like the Ascari one.
At Brands it is a fast downhill onto the flat left hander. That forces the car into the track.
At Ascari you have a flat left that plummets away to the left as you turn in.
It reminds me more of (Scottish - Fife) Knockhill style corner

Reminds me a bit of a watered down Corkscrew... only without the super tight right that follows... (Hmm next corner is called Laguna... but that fells like a mirror image of the Rainey Curve at the Californian track.)

Oulton could be based on Oulton Parks final proper corner the tighter and longer than you want - Lodge Corner - except the exit of Lodge is a cracking roller coaster like drop (Deer Leap) So the Ascari track is nearly there but misses the best bit!

The First fiddling Chicane reminds be a bit of some Aussie track - Sandown?

I know, I know. I'm not saying you're wrong. :)

It's true they're different in that regard, but I can actually see a similarity in how you have to approach that corner though.
Laguna could be the first left hander just after the start/finish line... just a wild guess.

I think the corners are meant to be reminiscent of such corners and not actual recreations. But I'm only going on my own in-game references as that's my knowledge level.

Even with the above help none seem familiar to me and I haven't really been able to get a good lap around it. Just a string of corners with no consistent flow. One of the tracks I avoid along with Cote d'Azur & London.

I'd like GT to add a track that recreated various corners EXACTLY. That would be cool.

Willow springs? Check the real life vs. GT6 comparison, its about as close as the hardware will allow

Sorry... I meant taking various famous corners from multiple tracks and sticking them together in one track.

Like having the track start on the downhill straight of spa through the chicane and up to the flat part... then through the karussell corner from the 'ring... sweeping left hander leading to the hairpun from Suzuka... and add a few more for good measure. But use the actual corners and not whatever inspired Ascari.

Won't ever happen but would be cool:)👍

Ahh right, yeah that would be cool.
Apparently the track creator is in Beta testing at the moment so hopefully that will be finished soon, maybe your dreams will come true lol

Nice to see I'm not the only one who can't get decent rythym round Ascari.

I think Senna S is named after José Carlos Pace Circuit (Interlagos) here in São Paulo, Brazil.
Famous F1 circuit.

Great track, but needs mass memory capacity to learn quickly, or else an hour of practice at least.

So many blind corners, you just have to learn where to point the car and trust the track will be there

Interesting. I had heard about this, but never was able to come up with anything from the little bit of thinking about it I did while driving the track. But now, having seen the track map and the names and the discussion... none of those corners seem any more reminiscent of any of the other corners in question to me than they were before. At all. Maybe just a tiny bit "inspired by" here and there. :)

I don't actually mind the track, but I'm not exactly in love with it either.

Maybe, the thing is that the Senna S at Carlos Pace is a steep downhill, off-camber corner, completely different from the Ascari track. To me, at least, the Senna S at Buenos Aires track is more similar.
But then again, it makes more sense to model a corner from Interlagos...

There's very little flow to the circuit though. One or two sections have nice flow but other than that it's just straight, brake, turn, rinse, repeat. Not one of my favourites.

Here is another track that was modeled after some older tracks.

Just thought you would like to know
I knew already but that pic should help when/if we get a decent track creator, thanks!

by chance, do you know how they model tracks in GT games?

I want that too! if it's not included in the track creator I'll be very disappointed

On Ascari, if you stop take a corner then stop and take a corner, it's the best two corners in the world.

by chance, do you know how they model tracks in GT games?
GPS mapping for the layout and laser scanning for the track surface I believe. Not all of the tracks are done this way, some are just recreated using pictures and maps

Well, Ascari is shaped like a uterus. It could be anyone's.

The 2nd corner is called "The screw", because if you miss your braking point and end up in the gravel there... well... You're screwed.

I love that the 2nd chicane is called ""Piff-Paff".

Thanks!
From watching parts of Le Mans and Nürb 24h races this year, I thought the former was too wide in a lot of places, and the latter not wide enough, could be me though...

actually looks like the whole human female reproductive system (uterus+ovaries+vag') but that was funny.

I would doubt that they fully modelled the nurburgring because of the size and the difficulty of doing so, it must cost enough money and take a long enough time to do a short course such as willow springs, doing a 15 mile loop would take years to model to any degree of accuracy.
