Have not noticed any problem with the wheel animation.
Working DOR is so nice.

What FOV are you guys using?
I know there is a ”right” way to calculate the FOV.
But it does not work sitting 3 meters from a 75” tv.
I lowered the default 54 to 45 and moved the seat, feels good for now.
I actually went wider and moved the camera forward - I don´t know what I´m doing though so maybe that´s completely stupid.

According to this I should lower it to as low as 21 if I sit 2.5 meters from the tv.
Thinking you should only use the calculator if you have the screen between 0-1 meter.
But I am no expert 🤔

I'd like to see a comparison between the updated PS5 game and the PS4 version running on PS5 with the console set to 1080p.
EDIT: they do show it at the end, but only to highlight the fact the new version doesn't have smooth wheel animation... Which kinda sucks...
I'm hoping the frame rate is as good though.
Comment by the uploader of the vid:

"We've been tipped off (thanks Phil Baythorpe) and have a work around for the slightly jerky steering wheel animation on PS5. The settings we recorded at are the out of the box experience, however if you go into settings and change the steering lock and increase it this resolves the issue."

The DOR now work so you only have to set the steer lock in game to 900 ( T300 ) and everything
works great.

I am on Xbox series x and cant get my forme Feedback to work. I have a g923. The leds on the wheel dont work either. Everything workpiece before the update. I have noticed that many other have the same problem with this wheel atter the update. Someone got a fix?

So I've just ran 2 races and must say I'm impressed (well, apart from the fact they haven't fixed the rolling starts so I guess that's here to stay).
Looks a lot better than running it at 1080p on PS5 certainly. More details, grass looks better, track surface is better and obviously everything is a lot crisper now.

No more flickering Motecs!

Chose the T300 wheel preset and can also confirm DOR changes per car now. Just had to save the rest of my button and FFB settings and it's now jist as before. Result.

I enabled motion blur on the visual options which seems quite subtle, but I'll leave it on as it looks pretty nice, especially in replays. Although pausing the game with it enabled gives some strange visual results...

Found the look to apex option in the view settings, which they call Lock to Wheel. Only works in cockpit view, not dashboard, but I set it at 30 as any higher makes me feel sick lol. No other issues right now, very pleased to have view/FOV options now, overall happy.

Okay so seat and camera settings are saved per car? FOV is a global setting?
Yes

The physics..
Just hotlapping around Nurnburgring at 18 pm in clear weather puts a smile on my face.
It drives so well, and the FOV/seat option is fantastic.
Great FFB, graphics and sound.

Hope they fix the bugs as soon as possible and this will be hard to beat.

Try setting DOR to max on your wheel and in game. This worked for me on a TS-XW. FFB still feels much lighter than before though.

If I remember correctly the last time I updated the firmware ( T300 ) it was set to 900dg.
So ingame setting at 900?
Max for the wheel is 1080 but I think it calibrates to 900 at startup.
Whatever the max rotation of your particular wheel, set it at that. Mines 900 and that was the max allowed, I presume if you've got 1080 then that will be the max. Then turn the wheel and the icon in the left of the cscreen should match you input 1:1

Is there a way to set your wheel so full lock is 90 degrees instead of having to turn the wheel 360 degrees for full lock

900 works great, tested it with the icon and several cars using the view with the wheel visible.
Matches 1:1.

I thought my T300 was set to 1080 but the game says max is 900 and it lined up 1:1 with the 2 cars I tried so happy it just worked without faffing around.

Okay I've got this up and running after failing yesterday due to being an impatient idiot and installing the paid version :D, that's been refunded already and I've installed the proper update. Looks great so far, my only issue is that it's not picking up my PS4 save game although I have a cloud version and a console version. Anyone else had this issue?

Then I wonder if the different feeling FFB is only affecting certain brands of wheels? Because as I said earlier, on my Fanatec CSL DD everything feels exactly as it did before the update. I didn't have to change anything.

Could be the case. I'm definitely not saying the FFB is bad or making it unplayable. Still a great sim. It definitely made a huge difference when I maxed out DOR.

Have a mess with steer scale, the higher that number, the smaller movements you need to do to get full lock

Gotta say I’m not seeing where all the doom and gloom is coming from.
On ps5 it looks and plays fantastic.
Ffb on g29 feels about same, serviceable but would like to feel bit more tyre bite.

Overall very happy with this upgrade.

Edit to add
Fov adjustment makes all the difference

Hi Bleeder

I'm T300 user as well, but didn't bother with the PS4 version.

I'll be picking up my PS5 disc copy Friday afternoon.

would you mind sharing you FFB settings please?

My FFB has become very intense and heavier on my Fanatec CSW, but in a good way. Really feels like I'm driving the car. It weirdly carries over a bit to the menus though, and vibrates slightly when you move it for some reason. Other than that, very happy.

Just fired it up for the first time, I skipped the intro video but the sounds were still playing in the main menu. It also gets stuck when I select resume career. The BGT DLC doesn’t work either, it says I need a season pass even though I already own that dlc.

The online lobbies look pretty much dead but it’s still early in the day here. I still think PS5 and XSX should be cross play, they really dropped the ball in that regard imo.

It definitely looks better and runs smoother than the ps4 version but it doesn’t blow my mind or anything. It feels different though, the gain feels much less intense meaning my G29 doesn’t rattle around nearly as much.

I thought they remixed the original menu music with racing sounds and wondered why they did that because it sounded like a complete mess.

Hmmm. On my Fanatec I still went in and changed the DOR on the wheel and in the game controls just like I did pre update. I didn't want to mess with any of those new settings unless something was wrong and thankfully it wasn't.

Sure,
Gain 70/75 (or just set depending on how strong you are. I find any higher than this gives me fatigue more quickly)
Minimum force 1%
Dynamic damping 75
Road effects 25
Steer lock 900
Steer scale 100.

I thought the wheel generally felt heavier after the update, but tbh I've been killing time with GTS of late so probably just me, as the FFB between those 2 games is wildly different.
