A few details I noticed from the interview with Overtake:
  • 0.3 will include, besides the BMW M3 GT3 EVO and the Dallara Stradale, the Caterham Academy car and the BMW M3 (E30).
  • The E30 has been redone. Laser scanned to fix model proportions and inaccuracies.
  • No rally expected for ACEVO. Kunos feel that rally deserves its own dedicated title.
  • They reiterated the entire open world will be driveable. Marco joked that currently trees don't have collisions in their current open world build so they're driving through them, at the moment, but it will be substantially more difficult once they do have collisions.
  • Kunos open to making more open-world maps, but "one step at a time". They want to see how people react to Eifel first.
  • They're focusing on adding car brands that didn't appear in AC1, so, for example, they haven't gotten to Pagani yet.
  • The Nordschleife (the track, not the open-world) is expected to arrive around Fall this year.
  • If they include Le Mans, it will only be when there is a substantial variety of cars related to it. It's definitely not happening this year though.
Feel free to point out any mistakes I made, or things I may have missed. And also remember this is not a comprehensive summary of the interview, just what jumped out to me.
He also said he'd be interested in adding non cars, like a truck with a trailer, and you can haul your car. He joked maybe even an ambulance.

Everyone who plays beamng says 'so what?'. Trying too hard to be everything, AC has become almost everything due to mods, but with that we can pick and chose. In a current game as light as ACE i hope he's joking about trucks and ambulances at this stage... what next get the chance to be a marshal?

Actually that would be pretty cool... Marshal simulator...... hmmmmmmm

The updates are a little slower than expected but that’s ok. The main reason I bought it so early was for the discount. It was only $33 for me at the time, I’d rather do this than pay full price when 1.0 releases.

Thanks! Anything about consoles?

Well it's no different from the original AC, with the exception there will be more to do now. They will not be adding trucks and ambulances now (I would love a trophy truck though ). As for what you can do with mods I don't know why people bring this up, it's irrelevant to many of us. It isn't official content, can't get it on console, many don't want to mess around with modding,

It's irrelevant? That's wild seeing that it's what's kept a 10 year old AC still alive and well. RSS and VRC are out here making better content than the original content kunos made. A lot of the track mods are made better than original Kunos content. Fat Alfie Tracks are a thing of beauty. The many of us are the numbers this sim still bring in on Steam and we all want to mess around with modding. That has been an easy top 3 concern of everyone who is paying attention. This may be a console heavy forum but this Assetto Corsa series has been the opposite. There's 4857 pages of nothing but mod discussion, working on and sharing of mods on this very forum unmatched by any other category on this site.

Lets not look at OT...

Well, with the news about Turn 10 being gutted, I went and got this in early access and I’ll install once it hits full release.

It’s real upsetting to me that this is probably the end for Forza, but this game already has Imola, Donington, COTA and Fuji, so I’m hoping for the best here.

yeah... modding is irrelevant

LOL
Hmm I don't know, did you just completely ignore my comment and only read the first 3 words? 'its irrelevant to many of us on CONSOLE". I'm specifically talking about AC not ACE too. The existence of mods for AC on PC in no way negates the point of ACE. A lot of you guys who use mods think you're the only people that exist. As I said, besides console players there are many players who don't want to mess around with mods. If we listened to you guys there would be no need for another SIM in the market ever.

Dude calm down!!

Development for console will come AFTER the PC version, which will, AGAIN, includes mods!

Am I missing something here? Where was the info the ACE will have mods on console? I know it’s the case for PMR but maybe I just missed that for ACE.

It might be a good idea for someone to start a PC only thread like we have for original AC. The separation might be better for keeping things more focused for each and less confusion. Especially if a console version doesn't even have a release date yet.
I still believe that Kunos should do mods like Farming Simulator does, that way it would be available on any platform!!

I don't have Farming Simulator but from what I understand and have looked at, they have a mod hub in which console users can use the hub in game while PC users can either use the hub or just side load, drag and drop content in at will.
I'll mod as much of anything and everything I can for Evo but I don't know if people would really be compelled to make sure every little thing they create makes it onto a modhub, especially if that content was to be ported from another sim, in which case wouldn't be allowed on the modhub in the first place I would imagine.
Also with these small teams like RSS or VRC calling their cars Ferrucio or Darche or Protech or Adonis, I'm not sure how that would fair with Kunos or legality. I wonder if all that would fly in the console world. Seems to just be overlooked in PC land.

And had that been what you actually said it would have been clear.

Without mods on PC, AC would not have sold close to the volume it did, and as such ACE likely wouldn't have been viable.

Nope, but mod users likely represent the vast majority of AC players.
As I said, besides console players there are many players who don't want to mess around with mods.
And what percentage of AC players do you think that is?
If we listened to you guys there would be no need for another SIM in the market ever.
I'm not quite sure how you managed to reach that conclusion.

You posted a screenshot of your own comment. Do we have an actual quote from Kunos? If yes, please share where they said that mods would be available on console, like it will be the case, at least partially, with PMR.
Never said it was coming to concole, I was implying that PC WILL get mods, as Lancia stated that mods wasnt really an important part of AC...

I'm calm. Don't know why you think otherwise.

Imo console may get some mods if they have official support. Kunos mentioned putting modders in contact with licence holders iirc.

Answer 1. I was pretty clear in what I said "it's irrelevant to many of us. It isn't official content, can't get it on console, many don't want to mess around with modding". See irrelevant to many of us, can't get it on console.

Answer 2. I don't doubt it. I couldn't have been more clear, mods on AC does not negate the point of ACE. I gave no opinion about what mods did or did not pave the way for.

Answer 3. Perhaps but I didn't suggest otherwise, also certainly not vast majority of console players.

Answer 4. No idea, 100% of console players though. What number of PC players that do use mods though download all the mods to the point it makes ACE pointless?

Response to your last point: it's very very easy how I came to that conclusion and I don't think I could have been clearer: modding on AC1 is irrelevant to many of us, I didn't not conclude modding is irrelevant, I did not say modding on ACE will be irrelevant. The point I always see with people who have a library of mods is: What's the point of ACE if we have mods on AC? Well the point is for those who only play on console ( and for those that only like official content ) there is very much a point to ACE. I see many comments on videos saying why bother with developing AC when we have AC mods and my answer is the point is that is a selfish view that negates 50% of AC buyers ( according to Massarutto ). The typical reply to that is buy a PC, which is not a viable solution to everyone. I'm not buying a pc to then play with a control, so I'll have to buy a rig set up which I just don't have the room currently . Moreover gaming is also about your friends and friends and I'm never gonna convince all my friends who race and chill n drive with me to buy a PC set up. I'm completely in favour of mods and hope they come to console.

TLDR: Didn't say mods are irrelevant, said mods pertaining to AC1 are irrelevant to many of us, because console...

Hope that clears it up.

Do you not agree that your revised wording made it clearer that you were referring to console users?
See irrelevant to many of us, can't get it on console.
100% of console users doesn't equate with 'many' AC players and/or owners, when the totality of players is counted.
Answer 2. I don't doubt it. I couldn't have been more clear, mods on AC does not negate the point of ACE. I gave no opinion about what mods did or did not pave the way for.
Not what I was talking about, I'm not of the view that mods on AC negate the point of ACE.
Answer 3. Perhaps but I didn't suggest otherwise, also certainly not vast majority of console players.
See above.
Answer 4. No idea, 100% of console players though. What number of PC players that do use mods though download all the mods to the point it makes ACE pointless?
It's not, however, a universal view among PC players that the presence of mods makes ACE pointless. Ditto for any other title that features mods.

Again, it's not a truism that even a majority AC players on PC hold that view. My mod count is in the 1,000s, and I certainly don't hold that view at all. I would also love to see the data supporting a claim (not yours I know) that circa 50% of buyers have not used mods to some degree, I strongly suspect it's significantly higher than that.
I'm completely in favour of mods and hope they come to console.
Hope that clears it up.
It does.

As a modder myself, I can say that some of my (all free) mods have over 10,000 downloads and others I colaborated with have over 30-50k downloads just in the last 2 years.

This simply does not equate to the "mods are irrelevant to many". If you check the online severs, most are running some sort of car or track mod. I actually run a server with Kunos content only btw. AC1 is also the most played race sim by far acording to Steam statistics for years on end. If I recall properly, a few cars in the official DLCs for AC1 were made by... modders.
