could someone please explain to me how to do this? i looked all over the forum but i wasn't able to find a thread explaning how to assign the wheel's right button as the e-brake. i have tried assigning r1, r2, or r3 with 'side brake' as the japanese reads it but to no prevail. this was done in 'key assign '

thanks in advance :sly:

Some people don't have the G25, GT5:P, or know the answer.
Sorry for possibly getting your hopes up with this post by the way.

The right side button on the G25 is by default set to the Hand brake . If you have messed with the setting just go into the DFP setting and click reset to default at the bottom left.

Isn't for me and I havent touched touched the button configuration at all.

Next time I play I will try resetting the DFP settings, but I doubt it will work.

my red button was nothing.. :( ?

I have problems with PC racing games.. i have to assign buttons for each game manually with the wheel even tho they give you the G25 button layout by default.

are we talking about gt5 prologue? because that certainly was not the case for me.

i tried everything from resetting the dfp setting, assigning r1, r2, r3 under assign key and under driving force setting in game and nothing worked. Can anyone even confirm that the right button on the g25 wheel can be assigned as hand brake in gt5 prologue?

and yes, i downloaded the update for the game

and in the game there is no setting for DFP, only for DRIVING FORCE. i'm assuming those two are the same thing?

サイドブレーキ = e-brake/hand brake

R2 on DFP = Right G25 red wheel button

Do the math :)

I have the GT 5 prologue (PSN version) and it was set to hand brake by default until I changed it to LOOK RIGHT last week . dark_ruffo is correct , it is classed as R2.

Mine is unused by default. Weird. Blu-Ray version here.

Oh, yeah, in case you can't see the katakana of my previous post:

To be honest, I see having the Look Left and Look Right buttons assigned as the two red wheel buttons as "vital".

Jaguar helped me out with this in a different thread.

The drivers around me are quite thankful.

you have a point but then how about for those who wants to drift using the e-brake? the buttons on the shifter is not really an option.

and thanks to eveyone who helped out with the side break key assign. willl test it and see if it works tonight.

So did anybody figure this out? What I'm trying to do is set the right steering wheel button on my Logitech G25 as the e-brake. I've been messing around with the settings but nothing has worked for me so far. Any help appreciated!

this what you're looking for?
and R2 is the button you want the e-brake mapped to?

yes, that looks right. I'll try editing the controls with that diagram as a guide and we'll see what happens. And yes, the steering wheel button labled R2 in your diagram is where I'd like the e-brake to be.

Hey Zmann42087,
I recently did what you want to do with that diagram, so it should work.

I finally got a chance to play a little GT5P. I've been pretty busy with homeowork.. Physics and Calculus were owning me this weekend.

Anyways, your diagram worked great. I was able to setup the e-brake as the right steering wheel button. Racing around Eiger Nordwand in the Lancia Delta HF Integrale, I was finally able to use the e-brake to induce some oversteer. This was a huge improvment when driving that Lancia. Like many old AWD cars, the Delta Integrale Evoluzione has a tendency to understeer at the limit. A quick tap of the e-brake enabled me to get the rear end to step out so I could power slide out of the corners. Much better. 👍
