Spoil-t, a helicopter that can fly at 170mph is sufficient to no be outrun hypercars let alone corvettes or 350z's. Very few roads are straight enough for long enough to maintain an average speed of above 170mph. Besides a helicopter can take a straight line over obstacles, unlike a car which has to make turns and dodge other road users.

You are also forgetting that the visual field of helicopters spans many kilometers. Even if a can can maintain an average speed higher than a 170mph for a straight road, its going to take many minutes to be out of visual range. If it is a straight line then that is probably enough time to set more patrols in wait up ahead.

Helicopters aren't cheap, but they a very effective at tracking vehicles.

I don't know guys, Need for Speed taught me that I can outrun choppers and their weak American spike strips.:p

The more you blur the line, the more difficult it is to define what is and isn't a helicopter. Is a V-22 a helicopter or an airplane? It can do what a helicopter can do, and what a plane can do, so which is it?
 
It's got a pusher propeller...it's still a helicopter. Compound helicopter if it makes you happy.

A V-22 has pusher propellers too...

The X2 and S97 are compound aircraft. The V-22 is a compound aircraft. These combinations of the two will slowly develop to a midpoint where they are both airplane and helicopter.

So can a AV-8B, but we both know you don't call it a helicopter, either.
 
We need a new sub forum... for helicopters.
 
I always thought that the difference between planes and helicopters was obvious. If it had a propellor above the aircraft, it's a helicopter. Anywhere else, it's a plane. Sorry for being so naive, it's just what I thought.

Also, this is as off topic I have ever seen a thread.

The idea though of Dubai's police adding such a car isn't anywhere impossible, however.

Yeah, sort of like NFS, but with police that actually succeed at doing their job. And better physics... The only true difference is that one you can do for less than $100,000.

Sorry but yes that is the picture I was sent ,bit dissapointed it's shopped to be honest :lol:

Edit:Always wondered though don't the car makers have a say in this,I mean something like the One-77 seems like a waste to just sit there.

Edit number 2: Same friend of mine told me he saw the Bentley and the Aventador cruising on a highway so maybe they do use them .
