Aston Martin Unveils the $90,000 AMR-C01 Racing Simulator

Let's be honest here - you lot, and I, are not the market for this, obviously.

This is for people that have the means to buy an Aston outright for cash, and where another 90K is merely an afterthought.

We all already know that we can do far better for way less money, So if Aston wants to sell a "designer" sim rig to it's existing customers then that's OK by me. The people buying this aren't sim racers, they're people who are buying into the Aston brand, and for whom this is a toy, and simply for their amusement when not driving the real thing.
Yep. It's basically the 1%'ers version of buying a pinball machine or old arcade cabinet to put in your den. The important factor is that it's big and eye-catching and tells everyone that comes over to visit that you have the money to throw around on something like that.

One thing I've learned in my latter years of life, is that alot of mega wealthy people don't even buy things like this. It would be looked at as a waste of money and time. I don't know the market for this product.

You are right though, they aren't aiming at my broke ass.

Older people who are very conservative their money wouldn't, but this seems more towards the young "just made my first million" types who care more about having expensive stuff to flaunt their newfound wealth.

Remember going to the arcade? Yeah those dusty forgotten about places stuffed with old game cabinets. I used to go to the arcade regularly in the mid 80’s, they were sadly killed off In the 90’s when home consoles and PC’s gave us games that were just like a sometimes better then the arcade. Arcades need to invest in equipment like this, imagine 8 of these all running r/factor, I racing or similar at ultra spec, I’d go and pay money to play that. This isn’t affordable by your average bedroom/man cave racer but specialist gaming venues with equipment like this would be cool.

Oh boy can I imagine that. they'd need 16 tech guys just to sort out the problems. Please anything other than that bug laden early access thing called rFactor 2.

They also do a drivable version.

AMR-C01 is the first product to be borne of a new partnership between Aston Martin and British technology company, Curv Racing Simulators.

AMR-C01 has been designed to take pride of place in the most luxurious games rooms. Whether the user is a dedicated Esports competitor or a real world racing driver looking to hone their skills before their next race, AMR-C01 delivers with an exceptional immersive experience.

Crafted in carbon fibre, the front of the sim’s bodywork is shaped to invoke the signature Aston Martin Racing grille. AMR-C01 has a powerful-looking stance but at the same time keeps the level of refinement and surface quality and finish that customers expect from any Aston Martin.

The all-carbon fibre monocoque provides a rigid structure, the design of which also adds to the sporting look of the simulator. The seating position mirrors that of the Aston Martin Valkyrie, adding a futuristic hypercar feel to the simulator.

Starting Price £57,500!!

I mean which of us hasn't got that kind of cash lying around and if we did, why wouldn't we spend it on an actual high-performance car instead?
