I'll take the contradictory stance then.

The Vantage is shaping up to be a timeless effort from Aston Martin. Even if it is decidedly old, I'm not at all concerned with them replacing it ASAP. The car is still as beautiful as it was in 2005, sounds just as good, and still drives quite well with the seemingly constant updates to the car. Sure, they're going to need to ditch some of the Ford bits inside sooner than later, and an updated powertrain wouldn't hurt. But, if you wanted something that is completely unlike anything else in the segment, the Aston is arguably one of your better options.

Unless you're a sane person who'd just drop $60k on a Stingray instead.

The Aston Martin Vantage is one of the few modern cars that is a timless design that could be beautiful in any era. I'm goimg to miss this model dearly, especially the N/A V8. ;_;

Having had a brief drive in a 4.7 Vantage, I would also say Aston need to improve some of the interior ergonomics to make it feel more conventional. I found the handbrake being down on the right hand side of the driver's seat and the electric seat controls on the right side of the center console a bit off putting.

While I totally agree that the design is timeless and looks a lot better than other grand tourers on the market, 11 years really is time for a change. I mean, we all know how great the original Mustang was, but what if it looked the same all the way until the 80's? Sure, it looks just as good as it did in 1964, but the public would get tired of the design and want something new, something more. That's how I feel about the Vantage.

It's just that times are changing, and that means the looks of performance cars are changing, too. While the Vantage is majestic looking to this day, compared to other cars of today, it looks a bit dated. I'm ready for a new design. Something all new, much different styling than before. Interior and power train should be upgraded as well. Even if it's just a facelift, as long as it's something different from the past.

When calling out certain manufacturers for trying too hard, I rest my case.

That looks absolutely stupid.

Yeah, the neon bits are awful. I'm curious what the white/green colour combo looks like, though. If it's like the Bentley GT3's, it could work.

Still, it all smacks of the poor-taste graphic packages hot hatches all had in the 80's.

Looks like they're sticking with the six speed manual. I expected more than 440hp, too. Oh well, it'll just be snapped up by collectors anyway.

The latest episode of MT's Ignition is the V12 S with the GT8's available 7spd manual... I NEEED IT

Just FYI, if you guys want your dream Astons in high resolution with no distractions, for wallpapers or something, zoom in, then right click on the car itself and you can save the image. No need for screenshots or anything.

I suppose this could turn into a general Vantage discussion thread. Spy photos of the upcoming Vantage have surfaced on the web and it looks as though the DB11 has hit the shrink ray.

TBH I don't like the accents on this car. Makes the cars look tron-y and vulgar.

I like the dark blue with no wing a lot.

I dont like where Aston is going, it's going from a classy slick beauty to a flashy tuned HeylookImhere kinda car. Looks like a tuned Skyline, not what I'm expecting from Aston. Definitely not my taste.

Good thing you can still buy the "classy slick beauty" Astons
