Several rounds of testing done. The best I could manage was a 1:12.1 in the Gallardo. So, we're going into the 1:11s soon.
I have no idea what to do about turn one. Also, I'm with
@911RSR on the silly chicane. The two turns before the silly chicane are also... odd, and have hard-to-find brake markers. The penalties at said silly chicane were especially brutal. Those stewards slapped me running wide over the green stuff in the high speed corners as I do the final turn at Tsukuba.
But weirdly, you can overshoot the braking point into turn 1 by a football field, end up deep in the green stuff, point the car and dump the throttle and get back into the lap. The super strict stewards don't care. Is doing that actually fast? Ehhhhhh, it's quicker than it should be
DO LIGHT CARS HAVE A CHANCE NOW?
Maybe. Previous builds in the 1330kg range are still the sweet spot for power. But interestingly, the light cars are not totally left in the dust. For example the two Alpine A110s below have radically different setups, but they are basically the same in pace. Though sadly, they are both slow in my hands.
Alpine A110 '17 - 1:14.24
422hp / 2432lbs [1104kg]
Alpine A110 '17 - V6 Swap - 1:14.25
515hp / 2976lbs [1350kg]
FOUR WHEEL DRIVE CLASS
Still super strong. Maybe I should just hide here for the rest of this round

Watch out for the Gallardo with its nutty aero. META potential.
Lamborghini Gallardo - 1:12.1
513hp / 2976lbs [1350kg]
It ran this lap with zero tweaks to the racing suspension. That made me feel useless as a tuner
Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce - 1:12.2
528hp / 3058lbs [1387kg]
Lamborghini Huracan - 1:12.9
501hp / 2886lbs [1309kg]
The handling is fine, but the lap times were disappointing. No rear diffuser = big disadvantage.
REAR WHEEL DRIVE CLASS TESTING
The quest for speed in the RWD class has been a struggle outside of the known meta cars.
Jaaaag XJ220 V12 Swap - 1:13.2
478hp / 2800lbs [1300kg]
Ferrari F40 - 1:13.4
479hp / 2800lbs [1300kg]
Toyota MR2 - V8 Swap - 1:13.5
515hp / 2976lbs [1350kg]
De Tomaso Pantera - 1:15.3
498hp / 2881lbs [1306kg]
Though I am grumpy that I haven't gotten any of these cars into the 1:12s, I am happy that a V12 XJ220, and V8 MR2 and basically an F40LM are fighting each other on the leaderboard.
