Attaching Images

What the hell!?

Let me change that question, why do some images show up as the "Attachment" link above, rather than just a normal picture?

All you have to do is click the 'img' button in the posting control panel thingy. Like this:

MattDancing.gif


If you're trying to link to a free web server, most of them prohibit external linking.

If you have the option in your options set to display images and attachments in posts, then you will only see JPEG and GIF images automatically displayed. Other formats, like that bitmap, will appear as a link like that.

No, you may not.

Bitmaps are fine for windows-based PC's, but they are a windows format so, AFAIK, other computers won't have an easy time displaying them.

And they're big, much bigger than a .gif or .jpg, so don't use them for anything online.
